We stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed every night !

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The bar and lounge was comfortable and we enjoyed lounging with a drink.

The garden bar was a great opportunity to stay up late and chat , smoke a cigar and discuss our day.

The Room was amazing , the tub and shower was great .

We loved it here and highly recommended !

We had 5 nights at the Rose Garden Palace. Lovely Hotel with spacious room, comfortable bed but pillows could have been better. Great bathroom and bath!
Breakfast was lovely. Staff were also great and very helpful.
Downside was the Wifi we couldn't access in our room as it was so weak but could get it downstairs!
Also the location wasn't as close as we thought but taxis outside the door.

First stay was for a week in July 2011; returned for an eight night stay, May 18 – 25, 2014. Other family members also stayed there concurrent with both stays. Therefore I feel qualified to make valuable observations to aid you, the perspective guest.

Room – The A/C was inconsistent in its reliability/performance (didn’t keep the room cool after the system was worked on during our stay). Need to replace it. The beds are too hard and the pillows not very inviting. The bathroom lighting is poor over the sink and needs to be improved. No safety bar for entering/exiting the shower/tub enclosure (long way down!). WiFi coverage in the room was spotty, such that I had a hard time accessing the Internet, also making WiFi calls; I lost the WiFi connection on a number of occasions, costing me significant mobile data charges.

Breakfast – This is a full-service buffet, with very nice seating inside (lobby or green house), also outside in the rose garden. Virtually nothing has changed since our last stay. I can’t figure out why anyone would want their scrambled eggs watery and very undercooked, a daily occurrence. The bacon tended to also be undercooked. The cold meats and cheese selection was very good, as was the yogurt. The cappuccino was usually not very strong and almost always NOT hot; inconsistent. Their baked goods vary in quality. The croissants are doughy and heavy. The fresh fruit almost never varies; no strawberries or blueberries. Apparently Italians (most Europeans) don’t eat bananas as they have never been offered. Same dried prunes every day; have stayed at other less expensive hotels that offer stewed prunes (easier to eat and more flavor!). As someone who only eats gluten-free, there were a few choices, including a fresh roll that was tasty. Last stay I didn’t inquire so I have no way of comparing then to now. Make sure to let the staff know that you only can eat gluten-free foods. Consider bringing some gluten-free dried oatmeal (muesli) or other cereal with you. There is a market just around the corner for what other needs you may have.

Otherwise the hotel is clean and quiet, situated in a very nice, well-located, high-end neighborhood. The staff is very nice and helpful. One suggestion would be for the front desk (with help of management) to create a comprehensive list of nearby restaurants, including those offering gluten free dishes; also other specialty needs stores (my mother needed hearing aid batteries, which were obtained very nearby at an audiologist’s office). It was a bit of a challenge (and stress) to locate such. The list should include the address and phone number and be printable for the guest. It is that kind of service that would help make this a high-end small hotel (and better worth the rate). Note: located across from a certain well-known, large embassy. Would I stay here again? Hmm. Rating: 8.2

Room Tip: We have stayed on various floors, inside rooms, also on all three sides. All good.

Pros: Convenient location, walking distance to many sites. Taxi stand at the corner of the block to take you everywhere else. Breakfast spread was good and held in the nice open lobby. Standard room was a good size.

Cons: All football TV stations did not work during the World Cup. We tried to watch the 10 PM game and the channel was out, or so we were told. We called down for help they kept telling us to put it on a certain channel, which we did and I kept explaining that it wasn’t working. Finally they sent someone up to check out our TV, only to have him do the same thing I did, and then tell me the channel is out everywhere. He said it’s the TV station not the hotel, and that a lot of people are complaining about it. My husband then went downstairs and saw the SAME CHANNEL working with the game on in the group tours breakfast room. It was our last night and all we wanted to do was watch the game in bed before we left for the airport. Never got the comp bottles of water other reviewers mentioned. Coffee at breakfast was not good.

This was my sixth trip to Rome and I highly recommend couples stay elsewhere as this hotel is geared towards large tour groups. Less than two years ago I stayed at St. George Roma and Hotel Fortyseven, either of which I should have returned to on this trip.

Dear Jo P,

Thank you for taking the time to share your opinions about your recent stay at Rose Garden Palace Hotel.

We highly value our guests’ comments in order to constantly improve the level of service We strive to offer.

We are extremely sorry to learn of your discontent, which seems to be mainly linked to TV Station and comp bottles.

Absolutely Yes, the channel SKY were out everywhere because the match was on the italian Station: RAI1, available in all rooms.

Concerning the comp bottles to keep the high quality of our service We put all the bottles in the fridge and as reported into menu 1 bottle of sparkling water and 1 bottle of natural water per day is free of charge.

In such cases, when properly informed, the Front Office team is always ready to support and meet our Guests' needs.

We do pride ourselves on our high standard of service and We do sincerely hope you will not judge us solely on the basis of this particular experience, but you will decide to visit us again at the occasion of your future visit to Rome.

Kindest Regards,

Rose Garden Palace Hotel Staff

Good hotel overall. Rooms were clean, well furnished & really good size. Nothing can be totally central in Rome as it's huge! But it's an easy walk to Spanish steps and Trevi fountain from here. Short journey in a taxi will get you to all the major sites. Staff were efficient if occasionally a little lacking in charm....! Breakfast was a decent selection & opportunity to eat outside in garden area which was lovely.

We stayed in June 2014. We had a corner room. Great size with sitting area. Small walk in closet. Good location. Nice couch and small bar to enjoy evening night cap. Service was very good. Several good restaurants around the corner. Upper end area. Across from the US embassy. Outside the wall of Rome is a flourishing community. Great place to visit.

Room Tip: Ask for room on fifth floor, west side.

We stayed at Rose Garden for five days in June. Believe Perillo owns the property, and they know a thing or two about travel accommodations. The room was decent sized, clean and had a view of the American Embassy. A/C worked fine during the hot, humid week we were there in June. The front desk service is responsive and the people manning the desk are very congenial and professional. They always had great suggestions for local eateries and how best to tackle the streets of Rome. Location is excellent. Right across from the American Embassy and off the Via Veneto within walking distance of many sights. Breakfast was an excellent choice of hot scrambled eggs with bacon/sausage and a myriad of other cold goodies like croissants, cakes, cold cuts, fresh fruit. Service at the restaurant was very good. Had dinner at the hotel the first night in Rome and it was excellent. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.
