My wife and I stayed at the Rimini Hotel Nov 2013, we booked through a BA flight package and stayed 4 nights. I chose the hotel mainly on the location which is perfect for exploring Rome all the hop on and hop off bus start and stop within 5 min walk of the hotel there are plenty of places to eat close by which are good value compared to many places that try to rip you off. There is a Pasta Restaurant around the corner called Mino's which was excellent; 4 courses and a bottle of wine for 40 euro. A few weeks before our stay I contacted the hotel direct via email to inquire in upgrading our room as we got the flights and hotel so cheap we had a little spare to add some extra comfort to our stay. We upgraded to the Suite on the top floor which is huge with a lovely private balcony definitely worth doing if the budget can stretch to it. I would definitely book again. The only bad mark was the breakfast, it wasn't up to much so we eat out for breakfast instead.

Room Tip: Upgrage to the suite on the top floor

2 really good things: you are literally seconds from the main railway and tube stations, we did the Vatican door-to-door in about 10 minutes and the Colosseum in not much more than 5; the staff were great, I'm slightly biased as my wife was taken pretty badly ill during the holiday and everybody was hugely helpful over the issues arising, but even apart from that I would give these guys 5 stars for giving a damn and making you feel welcome.

The rooms are pretty good as is the free WiFi. And very quiet. Nothing flash but more than adequate, and if you are in Rome you should be out viewing the city and returning to your rooms just for a sleep anyway. And the beds are nice and comfortable. The corridors, carpets and lobby are a bit grubby but the rooms are much better. The breakfast was OK but no more than that; I loathe continental breakfasts anyway and would happily vote "no" in any forthcoming referendum on EU membership just for that reason alone so am maybe not the best judge here, my wife said the eggs were very good and the kids enjoyed the very large sticky buns. The area looks a lot worse than it is, you see some drunks and some graffiti but it is very busy with plenty of cops around and not all threatening.

There are loads of restaurants around of variable quality but we found a couple of very good ones literally seconds walk away.

So yeah, I would stay there again, primarily for the location and the people. And you can find a place that does proper English Breakfast near Santa Maria Maggiore about 5 minutes away.

Room Tip: get one on level 3 or above

This place is a bit of a dump. We picked it for our last night in Rome because of it's location to Termini station, you can walk out and across the street and you are in the terminal. Other then that, I wouldn't stay here for more then one night. The area is a bit dicey and bums are sleeping on the street, graffiti is everywhere and the caliber of shops and restaurants is lower. The hotel corridors are dark and have an awful paint job. The room we were given on the 6th floor was tiny and next to the elevator and overlooking a noisy alley so I went back down and asked for a better room. They gave us a new room on the 5th floor at the end of the hallway. It was a bigger room and quieter but still had some problems. The toilet seat literally fell off the toilet when I sat down. The shower head was hopeless and only a few of the jets on it were working, trying to get washed and rinsed was quite a challenge. The room was very dim even with all the lights on. The good things - the bed was actually comfortable. The free wifi worked great. The free breakfast was ok, they were out of a lot of things already by 9am, but we managed to find a few things to snack on. I would rate this a 2 star hotel at best, not 3 star.

Location: Fantastic! The hotel is a few steps away from Termini station and from Termini you can get all buses to the center of Rome and the metro as well. It is so convenient to get to the airport as well.

Rooms: We stayed at the suite of the hotel which at the very top floor. The room is massive with a huge double bed, a balcony, a small kitchen and an adequate bathroom. There is no bath tub, but the shower is good. The room is clean and to get in the room there is a set of keys (not a card one) as apart from the main door you have a gate like door to close the room. It does feel like you are living in a studio apartment :)

Staff: Absolutely friendly. As a matter of fact everyone in Rome we have met are really lovely and accommodating.

Breakfast: Adequate. A continental breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausages and the occassional bacon. They have cereals, croissants, fruit juices, pastries, tea, coffee. Not bad breakfast to set the day :)

All in all, this hotel is all we need for a full day of walking. It was a good hotel and certainly a good value for money.

My husband and I have recently returned from staying at Hotel Rimini. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and the room was very clean and comfortable. We requested Room 503 when we booked as this had been given good comments on Trip Advisor and we were allocated this on our arrival. We could not have picked a better room. Although the room is not very large it has a lovely terrace area with table and chairs where we could sit out after a busy day sight-seeing. We think rooms 504 and 505 also have similar terrace areas. Room 502 has a terrace area but it is smaller, however, we think the room is larger. Our room also has a safe and a fridge which were both very useful. We did not have to check out from the room until midday which was great as we did not have to rush around too much on the last morning. The hotel is very well situated as it is very close to Termini station so you can get the metro or the bus to visit all the main sights. The Terravision bus from the airport also stops right at the end of the road very close to the hotel. Quite a few restaurants are situated nearby. We ate at Ristorante Capitello on Via Marsala opposite the Spar shop and found both the food and staff excellent.
Overall, we would recommend this hotel for anyone planning a sight-seeing tour of Rome.

We needed a hotel for late night arrival and Hotel Rimini fit the bill. Directly down the street from Termini station, we bought food at the station and walked 1/2 block and we're set. After traveling 18 hours and no sleep this was an easy choice.

Me and my girlfriend stayed there for 7 nights in August 2013. The experience was not that great. We were given the 2 room suite which has an awful bed, the walls were dirty or cracked, the shower was dirty and rusty. The hall walls were also dirty. The dining room was at the fifth floor and it was nothing special, there wasn't any variety in the food. The bread always seemed to be 2 days old, in one of the days they served expired butter, in another the juice was mostly water and I found a strand of hair in the omelette.
The the thing that I liked the most is that it was near Termini train/subway station and from there you could go anywhere.
