“1st try in this place”
Reviewed 6 June 2013

We booked this place with the recommendation from this site, Trip Advisor. It worked out well for us. The room is ok, but they have great shower head, full body. The elevator is really small, not that great for staying on the 5th floor. They have great hosts (hostesses). And a very nice lobby area that you can relax and enjoy between the things to do and place to be. They have a very nice courtyard, It's also good to sit there in the early morning or evening to enjoy the quiet time.

The best part I like is there breakfast (and is included). They have great selection of fresh fruit, pastry, egg, etc. And don't forget to ask for a cup (or two) of cappuccino. That made my day in Rome.

Room Tip: Ask for the cappuccino in the breakfast room in the morning.

This hotel is in the perfect location from all the sites in Rome. The rooms are small but it has lots of character and the hotel staff is wonderful. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Termin Station. I would recommend this hotel because of it's location and it was very afforadable.

I visited from Hong Kong for a 5 days tour of Rome. It was absolutely a great stay in this hotel because of its location near Termini Station. After we exited the Termini Stn with lugguages, we only took a short walk on Via Gioberti for 10 minutes. "SMA" supermarket is near to the hotel for only 3 minutes walk if you need something. Friendly staff at the reception provided us a city map immediately after checked in, as well as recommendation of the restaurant. We had no problem of wifi access in the room. Room was very clean that carpet had no stain. As well as bathroom was also very clean and big. We took only 10 minutes walk to the shopping street: Via Del Corso and Via Condotti and Piazza di Spagna.. as well as Fontana di Trevi, Coloseo. Tourist hop on-hop off bus stop can be found easily right in front of the hotel. I like very much of the public space in the courtyard, the salla room on 3rd floor and the interior decorations. Breakfast was good. Generally, the hotel is very clean and in the safe area where my husband and I had good nights sleep in this hotel. We will definitely come back to stay in this hotel if visiting Rome again in the future.

Room Tip: Room 403 has a great view of Santa Maria Maggiore Church. Room was spacious and comfortable.

I visited from the USA for a 3 day tour of Rome. I chose this hotel because of its location near Termini station, after taking the Leonardo Express from Fiumicino Airport. The hotel had friendly staff, offered plain ticket printing from the desk, had great air conditioning, and decent wifi access from my room on the 4th floor. The bathroom was nice than expected, and the room was very clean. The location is just a 10 minute walk from Termini, Colosseum, and Trevi fountain.

Some aspects of the hotel are good to excellent and others problematic. Our room was cramped with little storage for cloths and none for luggage, perhaps typical for cities in Europe, but not helpful. The bathroom was larger than expected. There were few electrical outlets and one was poorly installed. If the air conditioning worked it was worked poorly. The public space in the middle of the hotel and the decoration of the interior of the facility were nice. Some of the staff were helpful but some were aloof and unhelpful. The breakfast was good, generous with mostly cold items and when the coffee in the urn was cold the attendant made fresh, good coffee and tea for us. The location is reasonably near the train station and a stop on the bus tours of Rome, but otherwise not a great location with few restaurants or other things desired by tourists nearby. The reception on the first floor worked well. Stayed 3 nights. The hotel was kept clean.

We'd originally booked at Hotel Grifo so we were a little concerned when they changed our reservation to the Antico, especially when we read some of the reviews. However, our concerns were unnecessary - some parts of the hotel are really stunning and the room itself was lovely - immaculately clean, traditional but smart decor and well planned out with lots of storage space.

The location is excellent, close to the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain, and very handy for arriving at the station (and the metro, though we didn't use it).

The staff were also very friendly and helpful - providing train times, luggage storage, ticket advice, etc.

An excellent place to stay to visit the Eternal City!

Stayed here for 3 nights during our trip. The location of the hotel is perfect, walking distance of everything. The decor of the hotel is very "old school" italian. Our room was clean and well kept, the service was brilliant, but the breakfast was just ok, not a lot of variety and the quality of some of it was not up to scratch, in saying that, i would stay here again! Small tip, make sure you check out the amazing library, old dining room (not the one used for breakfast) and chapel located inside the hotel, defiantly worth a view. Oh, and you have to go see the basilica located across the street from the church, it's amazing too!
