Stayed here on a rugby weekend.
Great rooms, good service, good location.
Have stayed in other Roman hotels, but thus far, this is the best in Rome for me.
The front desk were very helpful in arranging transport to the rugby stadium and The Vatican, etc.
Will definitely return.

I am a 2nd generation Roman, so going to Roma is like going home. We travel once a year to this beautiful city. Our wedding brunch took place in the hotel courtyard. It was flawless. The attention to detail was amazing. The food was excellent. Everyone speaks English, but I choose to practice my Italian. The hotel is central to everything. We always splurge and get a suite. The taxi's are called right outside and the maximum wait is 3 minutes. The doormen tell the cab drivers in Italian where you are going. If you want you can walk 50 yards to Piazza di Poppolo and grab a cab there. The bath and shower have plenty of water pressure. The beds are very comfortable, and the couch for my 9 year old daughter came with beautiful sheets and it is a full size twin. Very comfortable. The staff is wonderful. A great location to walk around, shopping on the same street as the hotel. By Rome standards this is a beautiful hotel.

Room Tip: Corner suites are roomy , sunny, and overlook the nearby piazza.

What a place. The terrace garden is such a beautiful setting. Food amazing and staff friendly and helpful. It has such a touch of class about it. Not cheap but well worth it and after all it is 5 Star dining in Rome.

We visit Rome every 2-4 years for three or four days and we have stayed at the De Russie at least four times in the past. The De Russie is well-located directly off the Piazza del Popolo and the Villa Borghese gardens. The intimate public areas are quiet and decorated in fine taste. The rooms are spacious and also decorated in the very best contemporary taste and simple (not flashy ) elegance, e.g., muted tones; beautiful fabrics; and black and white photographs. The bathrooms are generous and everything is not only well-designed but functional. Our room on the garden side offered a beautiful view over the gardens while being absolutely quiet. The hotel's restaurant serves excellent food and in pleasant weather dining in the garden is a particular delight. Service is both impeccable and friendly. As long as the De Russie keeps up its high standards, we would never consider staying at a different hotel while visiting Rome.

Hotel de Russie is a truly 5* hotel with excellent service, location and breakfast, gym and spa. The rooms are what you would expect from such an hotel without earning any architectural or design accolades. Beware of standard rooms on lower floors NOT overlooking the inner garden. Speaking of which I have to say that it is a marvel to have such a beautiful garden in the middle of a big city! The much acclaimed Stravinsky bar, although it was superb, it was not as swanky (i.e. trendy) as advertised in some guides. My room albeit it was not overlooking the inner garden, it was very nice for it was on the 5th floor with a nice view of other Roman gardens. As mentioned breakfast was top notch as was the service, especially the concierge. Best value it was not, but it certainly is in the top ten of Rome and I strongly recommend it thanks to its convenient location and if you can get a rate of $500-600 for a classic room and breakfast included.

Room Tip: Choose a room with an inner courtyard view and breakfast included in your rate

Hotel De Russie in Rome is in a great location next to Piazza del Popolo, taxis, restaurants, great stores… The rooms are very nicely done and very comfortable, great bathrooms…
The service and the people that work here are very very nice and they try to help on anything you need.
We complained many times about the internet and they came many times to the room, call the company, attached routers, nothing worked for a a long time(we spend 5 nights) it only worked at times

We came with high expectations, however where disappointed. The location is great and very close to the Spanish Steps. We had booked a superior room category and were completely disappointed: Still quite small, holes in the carpet, broken drawers in the dresser, terrible view from our room on to construction trash.
The garden terrace was fantastic and the food served in the restaurants as well.
Overall, my take is that they do not give it their best anymore. At these prices and with the Rocco Forte name I would have expected more.
