“An oasis of calm in a busy City”

My wife and I stayed in Residenza Cellini for six nights in March having read previous reports on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed.

Barbara and all her team make you feel very welcome from the moment you arrive and all requests whatever time of day or night are met with a smile. Excellent breakfasts with time to meet fellow guests and share the Rome experiences.

We arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport and we arrived at the hotel within 35 minutes of leaving Ciampino airport. Arriving late in the evening it was well worth the cost. By the end of the week we had found our bearings were able to return to the airport by bus (Terravision) which was a lot cheaper and leaves from the nearby Termini Station.

The hotel is very central and all the sights are within walking distance. The Vatican is about 40 minutes walk.

Very good restaurants only a few minutes from the hotel. Target,Del Giglio and Da Giovanni.

We recommend booking a guide to see the Vatican as there is so much to see. We used a company called 'Enjoy Rome' and the english speaking guide gave us a most informative 3 hour tour and avoided the queues to the Sistine Chapel.

We have already recommended this hotel to our friends.

My teenage daughter and I just returned from a six night stay and it was perfect for us.
As its name implies, the Residenza Cellini should be thought of as an inn or high end B&B rather than a hotel. It is a great choice if you are looking for a comfortable, soothing place to stay in Rome. The first three days we walked almost everywhere. But when it dawned on us that a Metro stop and several bus lines are right around the corner, we opted for those nearer the end of our stay. I would post pictures, but there really is no need to. The photos on the Cellini’s website accurately represent the accommodations. The junior suite is a well sized room that contains a day bed that can be used by a third person. Bathrooms have marble sinks, Jacuzzis and excellent water pressure. But the best thing is the warm, personal attention you get from the De Paolis family and the staff. They were all delightful and ready to assist in any way we requested. All communications were accomplished via email and went off without a hitch. We used their vendor for airport transfers and had late model Mercedes cars both ways that were very comfortable. In short, our stay confirmed the rave reviews on Trip Advisor which led me to the Cellini.

We chose Residenca Cellini because of the reviews here on Tripadvisor. It did not get off to a good start, as the pre booked Limo despite repeated telephone calls to the Hotel was nearly 1hr late. and it was not what I would call a Limo, more of a shabby chic 1982 Merc estate with a rumbling wheel bearing. We took the train back to the airport!

Don't be put off by the back street shared entrance to the Hotel building as the reception on the third floor is welcoming. Our Junior suite was very clean and well appointed.

The service from the staff was excellant and genuine and this more than made up for the out sourced shabby Limo service.

The Hotel make little play of the room service which is very good. They do not charge over the odds for this service which is valuable as there is no bar

There help in restaurant recommendations and booking tables was excellant.Try Clemente alla Maddalena for that special dinner

A great in exspensive Hotel (up market B&B) to base your visit to Rome from.

Would reccomend as a good choice and would stay here again myself.

My wife, daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at the Residenza Cellini for 4 wonderful nights. We arrived by train from Florence and it was a very short stroll from the station. Trains, buses and Metro are all convenient to the hotel. It also proved to be a great location for walking to sights and our late night returns were no problem given its safe location and surroundings. The staff was extremely cordial, helpful and informative. The rooms are gorgeous and breakfast is great. I really can't imagine better accomodations at any price for a visit to Rome. We will definitely return.
One note of caution: If you are tall, watch your head on the front door when returning at night. Got me every time!!

My husband and I along with our daughter, who was attending school in France, traveled to Rome right after the new year. The Residenza Cellini was completely booked up, so we were offered the apartment. It was great and we would stay there again in a heartbeat. The owners of the hotel take excellent care of you and go out of their way to make you feel at home and also make sure you know where you are going and what your options are for touring the city and eating at great restaurants. There is a fantastic pizza place right across the street that Donato recommended and we ended up grabing a slice of pizza a couple of times for lunch. All the sights to see are close by and most within walking distance.
It was wonderful to stay as a family in the 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath apartment. It was beautiful with wood floors and large bedrooms.
I would highly recommend this hotel/apartment to anyone traveling to Rome.

This apartment must shortly become one of the best finds in Rome!! My family and I stayed in Rome for a long weekend. We were offered the opportunity to stay at one of the apartments as the main hotel was full. I was a bit daunted at first but then decided to take a chance once I saw some photos of the place. I needn't had worried, as a previous reviewer has written (see 12JAN06 review), the apartment is fantastic. The apartment we stayed in had 2 bedrooms: 1 massive double bedroom and 1 large twin bedroom. The beds in the twin are a little small, but I guess are probably hotel standard size. The bathroom was decorated very nicely and the kitchen is well equiped (coffee machine, dish washer, washing machine etc). I would definitely go back to this apartment. Staying as a family group was much more comfortable than staying in 2 hotel rooms. The location of the apartment is great - about 10 mins from the Vactican, 5-10 mins from Spanish steps. The area surrounding is safe, and the local coffee/cake shop by the bridge (Ponte Cavour) is excellent! Most of all, it was cheaper than staying in a hotel! By the way, want to go to a nice restaurant (reasonable prices, well decorated and the locals go to?), then from the apartment go over the bridge (Ponte Cavour) and take a left into Piazza Augustus (I think), the place is called 'Recafe' and is set over 2 floors with modern furnishings - very nice.

Four of us spent three nights at the Cellini.
Each couple was treated to an immaculately clean room,
with an equally clean and well equipped bathroom.

The hotel is quiet, intimate and centrally located.
Lovely orchards were part of the restful decor.
We also enjoyed the classical music which played
subtlely in the common areas.

The truly outstanding part of our experience was the
warm and friendly staff. Unlike any we came across
during our entire visit to Italy.

Dealing with tourists day in and out is not easy,
yet the Cellini's staff was kind, patient and
helpful at every opportunity. We felt both
comfortable and welcome.

We can't speak highly enough about our experience.
at the Cellini. Don't miss out on the experience.
