Don't recommend anyone. Very pure conditions, everything is pretty old. Breakfast is the same every day, no fruits and only tomatoes, instant coffe:( pretty far from the center.
A good pizza not far from the place, down of the street, not cafe, just take away.

The hotel is just too far away from the city center and city taxes should be included in the price of the trip, not to find out when u r going to the hotel u have to pay other amount of money !
Very clean, every Day changed the towels and every 2 days the pillow cases. Public transport quite well organised.

Where to start....
How to get there if you are coming from champino airport:
-the the taxi (its better then the buss) to anaghina metro station then take the metro ticket (it's 1.5€ one way) and go all the way to battistini ( the last stop)
-from the metro you have to walk by foot aprox. 15 min on an up and down road ;
-after exiting the metro, pass the street to the right and go forward till you find the 1 street on your right -> go that way until the top then slight left and imedietly right then straight forward till a bifurcation with 5 roads ( if you walk on the left side of the road it's the 3th street - aproxemetly forward ) then you will see a giant green and allmost white thing ( the giotto) and you are there
- trust me this is the fastest road !!

The hotel :

- hard to get by foot
- the rooms are small
-the furniture looks ancient ( like the city)
- the hotel is like a house of a snail ( round and round on the inside) - for that see other reviews
-the shower cabin its soooo small
-the tv is like a 10' tablet on the wall (no english chanel - except the music ones)
-the keycard on the door is so moody you will have to pass it several times slower and slower
-watch your language because you can hear from 2 rooms down.
- we had a mini fridge - the towels changed every day !!!
- the room ac were i was dispached was brokend ( had to remove the front panel to get it working)

The breakfast :
- not much to choose from but its something to eat.
-pastry, ham, chese , cereal, jam, nuttella ( sort of) , bread and toasted bread ( no toaster )
- coffe tea and fresh juice
-watch for the glasses because i had a nasty plasure to find most of them partialy dirty.
For the smokers out here !!!!

In front of the hotel is a bar ( verry good and cheap - on the food and beer ) and the have cigaretes. Exept that you will only fond them on tabaco stores !!!!

The eperience is not so bad. The price is fair for the hotel and i enjoyed my vacation.

Have a great time.

This is not a 5 star hotel, only a 5 star review. This hotel is a budget hotel and such it is located further from the city centre and its facilities are basic. However, these points did not detract from an enjoyable holiday and the free parking was very useful. Additionally the hotel is a short walk from the underground so in general very accessible. The staff were excellent and were very helpful and friendly.Food in the restaurant was quite tasty too. Book this hotel with confidence that your budget stay will do the job but do not expect a luxury experience.

The reviews do somewhat sum up my experience of the Giotto. It's basic, a little out of the way, but CHEAP and clean. For context, my single room was little over GBP30/night, in the middle of August.

I had a single room, which was certainly on the small side. My friend's double was more comfortably proportioned. It was clean, and the bed comfortable enough as a place to crash. However the room was dingy by day, yet insufficiently darkened by the thin and tatty curtains by night. Wifi is free, and worked fairly well most of the time.

Breakfast was included in the price (remember how low that price was), but very basic - don't expect fresh fruit or warm cooked food. The pastries seemed to be the highlight of the show. Avoid the coffee machine and head to the cafe opposite instead for a 2EUR cafe latte or similar.

The rooftop bar had the look and ambience of an abandoned cruise liner, but could be an OK spot to sit out (particularly on the evening my air con had failed). However, the staff there were the best of the place friendly and charming, a contrast to the slightly rude and oddly disconcerting manner of the front desk staff.

Finally, a note on location. This is not central Rome. Do not expect to step out and see the Colosseum on your doorstop. However it is accessible via the Metro (which is approx 10 minutes walk away) to central areas (in an additional 10-15 minutes, one way fare 1.50EUR). If you take nothing else from this review, do use CORNELIA Metro, and not the one which appears to be 'nearer' on maps.

In sum, DO use this hotel if:
- you want to visit this amazing city but not spend a fortune
- you accept this is purely a place to crash as you'll be out and about all day anyway
- for some reason you need to be in this neighbourhood (unsure what that would be...)

Do NOT use this hotel if:
- you expect frills and services
- you have the budget for something more central, or with better amenities and service
- you have mobility issues that may be restrictive to getting in to the city owing to the walk to the Metro
- you are a solo traveller: I am unsure I would feel overly happy taking that walk alone.

I travel a fair amount on business and for pleasure - and this was a tough one to review. Feel free to message me with any questions :) But Rome is an amazing city. If price means you need to compromise... it's OK.

Room tip: Remember a single will be a single - small.
