This is a 3 star hotel about 30 minutes by bus from the centre of Rome. There are much more expensive hotels which are much closer but if you simply want a base to explore the city then this suited our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids aged 13 and 10).
The rooms are typical, not exactly luxurious beds and paper thin walls. It is not the hotels fault if like us, you have an Italian couple in the room next door who didn't know anything about being quiet and courteous! And yes the breakfast is not the most varied but you should not go hungry. The hotel is a 4-5 minute walk either way to bus stops to the Vatican or central Rome. bus tickets could be bought from a shop between the hotel and one of the stops. There was a small room next to reception for the safe keeping of cases if you arrive before check in (2pm) and leave after check out (10am). The tourist tax at this hotel is 4 euros per person per night payable at checkout by cash only.

The rooms were Tiny! The breakfast was very poor, there weren't enough options to choose from. It is very far away from the center of Rome. The metro was also far. About the staff, they were not very kind. The receptionist did not speak fluent English. I do not recommend this hotel.

The hotel is a long way from the sights. On average it took us 40 mins from the hotel to the centre of Rome.
Finding the hotel is not difficult when you know how, but there are no instructions on the web site. We found it best to get the tube to Cornelia on the A line then walk North past the park and turn left at the painted wall. It is slightly further than going to Battistini but it is on the flat and so took us less time.
The restaurant and bar in the hotel is only open for breakfast. The roof terrace was closed when we were there. The vending machines worked on occasions!
This was the smallest room I have ever had in an hotel. It was not possible to open the wardrobe door completely so the drawer in side was useless. The walls are very thin so you can hear EVERYTHING that happens in the next room. The rooms were cleaned every day and we got fresh towels. The general maintenance and cleaning were not good. The net curtains had a grey shade rather than white! One of the external roller shutters did not open so the room was always very dark. The door had to be closed with care or it did not lock. The small television on the wall was about the same size as my tablet and had no english channels that we could find.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant. I think that the problem with this hotel is the age. It was built when standards were low. It is used by a lot of tradesmen being put up for local projects and as a place to crash at night it is suitable.
In summary I would recommend spending more to stay in Rome so that you get to step out into the ambiance of a great city. If you want to do Rome at night and have a meal in town this is not a good place.

I'd highly recommend this clean and friendly hotel as a perfect base for exploring Rome. Set in a nice residential area near Pio Piazza, it is about an hours walk into town, but there are ample metro and bus stops to get you to the trourist sites in a jiffy at low cost (1.50 each way). However you just might find yourself charmed here, spending more time in the locale than first planned, meeting locals and getting a feel for suburban Roman life near the large Pinto Park. Here you'll find bars, restraunts, hardware stores and late night shops (open till 2am) set against a backdrop of beautiful street murals and lemon trees etc. OK, the hotel may be a little tired and might benefit from a refurb, but all the basics are covered and everything is clean. Breakfast is all-you-can-eat continental and the multi-lingual staff are always to hand and all too willing to help and even crack jokes to make you feel right at home.
Go on, give it a go!

Room tip: Take a travel kettle for tea etc.
