“Great location and friendly staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 March 2013

I spent four days in Rome and selected this hotel for the location and price.
The staff was always helpful and friendly.
The room was small which is not a problem for me since I use it only to sleep. But the bed was quite small and I had some problems with it in the first night.
The location is perfect since you are close to the Vatican/Sant'Angelo area and have a nearby metro station. To have diner I recommend to go to Piazza Navona area since the restaurants there look nicer and cheaper.
The breakfast in the hotel was really good.

I will return to Rome and will again select this hotel!

We stayed here for 2 nights in march 2013. The hotel has a great location close to Vatican and also piazza Cavour for airport bus. The staff couldn't be more helpful. The room was clean and fine. The room is dark with red velour wallpaper. The breakfast was ok for a 3 star. They will make special coffee if necessary. The hotel has a roof top terrace which I am sure is nice in good weather ( with view of St. Peter's). Overall good price / quality.

I was looking for a hotel in the Prati area of Rome and Hotel Arcangelo fit just fine. Considering the proximity of the hotel to the Vatican (a short walk), and two main subway stations, Ottaviano and Lepanto, the rates are very reasonable. The room I had was small but not tiny and it seemed soundproof and very conducive to a good night sleep. The breakfast was adequate. The hotel does advertise free parking and indeed it does have it. The parking is actually an ally behind the hotel accessible from a side door with a very limited capacity. I was there for 4 nights and mine was the only car there, I am not sure how they deal with more than 3 cars which I believe is the most you can fit in that ally. All in all, the staff is very accommodating and willing to help without being intrusive, the rates are fair and the location is perfect; who could ask for anything more?

Friendly staff, a superb location close to 2 metro stops to get into the old town & only about a 15 minute walk along quiet side streets to get to the Vatican. The breakfast is superb, one of the best selections we've experienced during extensive European travels.

The location, on a side street, a little away from the centre of town, provides some much needed peace & quiet away from the noisy craziness of Rome life. There are also some good restaurants in a 20 minute vicinity that you won't find in the guide books. Be brave & take time to explore the back streets most tourists don't bother with.

We booked through Booking.com & be aware that the picture of the bar is misleading - there is not a bar in the hotel. The terrace has a vending machine where you may select drinks - alcoholic & non-alcoholic. It's a bit pricey so we bought our own in a local market & took that up to the terrace.

In a city that is known for its crazy-expensive hotels, this is a real gem. The location is great; we bought the Roma Pass & made the short stroll to Octaviano Metro each day. At night it was only a 15 min stroll back from the Campo de F'iori. We would definitely stay there again if / when we return to Rome .... well we DID throw coins in the Trevi Fountain.... ;o)

Room Tip: If booking through a 3rd party site such as booking.com, make sure to specify what bed types you wan...

Book a TWIN room for 1 night through booking.com and highlighted TWIN room required. Only to arrive there and be presented with a double room. Asked reception for alternative room only to be told there weren't any! Spoke to manager in morning, only to be told there was a twin available and why I hadn't been offered this one! Apology offered but no recompense for loss of sleep and poor service, other than a bottle of beer!! Reception staff need to focus on customer service!! Breakfast was good on the other hand.....

I stayed here for 5 nights. Being alone means you get a really small room which is usually the case in Italy. Although small, the room was clean and the bathroom wasn't a bad size. The staff was helpful but not necessarily outgoing and the breakfast was fine. In fact, the woman running the breakfast was a highlight. I stayed in room 32. You have to go downstairs to use the WiFi. But when I was charging my Ipad on the bathroom outlet I discovered a hot spot. So I could access the internet in the bathroom. The location is really good and the neighborhood is quiet.

Stayed here for four nights. The hotel has a very tranquil location... very little street noise, so we were able to leave our window open all night. Don't expect much from the staff as far as answering more complicated questions. The free breakfasts every morning and minibar in the room were definitely a plus! Bed and bathroom very clean. Expect the beds to be pretty hard. It is a fairly far walk from the subway, but convenient to the Vatican. For European standards, very good!

Room Tip: Try Mama's restaurant around the corner!
