“room pleasant food terrible”
Reviewed 27 October 2013

we booked this hotel last minute so we could visit the Appian way before flying home. it was only 5 minutes drive to the Appian way, catacombs and Aquaducts which was great and only 10 minutes drive to Ciampino Airport. The room was comfortable and clean and the reception staff were professional and quick. On the down side we ate in the restaurant as although slightly overpriced it was easy and we had driven up from Sorrento. the food was less than expected we opted for meat dishes as we had done 9 days of pizza and pasta and needed a change....maybe we should have stuck with pasta as the meals were awful. Hoping for an improvement at breakfast but we were disappointed again, buffet style which is great but the produce was all processed tinned fruit, sweet yoghurts, rubber cheese need I say more. Use this hotel as room only and the facilities are good and location for Appian way excellent.

The Appia Park Hotel served it's purpose for us. Stayed in the front part of the hotel on the second floor facing the front driveway. Room and fixtures appeared a bit dated. Mattress was comfy. Not much nearby. The Carabinieri (Italian Police) station is right next door and it seemed to appear that they use the lobby and outside parking lot area as a hang out in between shifts. For snacks/water had to walk to a small shopping area across a four-lane intersection to the supermarket and coffee bar. Front desk staff was professional, however, we could not get verbal taxi rates from anyone to save our lives. Even the taxi driver who picked us up kept from giving us an answer. Good thing we also had a rental car as a back up because we had to drive for at least 15-20 minutes to get into the city of Rome. Since the hotel is located on Via Appia, it was a straight drive but I'm glad we had our own ride since the location is outside the city.

I stayed here for two days and had booked two rooms, one for a friend in a standard room and I stayed in the superior room. The rooms are dated and tattered. The restaurant is mediocre at best. The Internet worked about 50% of the time. Stay in Frascati or one of the other charming towns in the area.

I was booked into this hotel by a company I was visiting.

Having enjoyed great Italian hospitality and many bottles of wine I arrived back at the hotel, was delighted to find free wifi and fell into an assisted sleep. Breakfast was the usual continental affair, with a wide range of cake type things available.

I spent no leisure time at the hotel, but slept well, found the showering facilities adequate and the staff helpful.

This hotel was in the perfect location, considering my office right next door. Couldn't be more convenient. It's far from the city center - about 25 euro to go by taxi. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant fare is average, but got boring quickly.
Wifi service can be extremely slow. Rooms can be a bit noisy.
Upon checkout, they attempted to charge me for two bottles of water and a Coke from the mini bar (which I never touched), but they removed it without question when I told them I had not had anything.
Overall, great value. I'll stay there again.

Room Tip: A colleague was put in the annex building, which was apparently not the same quality as the rooms in...

We were billeted at this hotel (in their annex building) when we attended a 2-day conference. It's outside the Appian Wall, therefore far from the city center. There is a bus stop near the hotel but a taxi is more convenient for us.
My sister and I shared a room. The hotel room is clean but it's just small. We don't have space to walk on once we opened our luggage. Bathroom was also small.
The great part is that wifi is free and very fast in the room. Their breakfast is good and the staff were accommodating. There's also a grocery on the other side of the road.
If you want a place that's quiet and far from the bustle of the city, then this can be your place.

We arrived with a group for a one night stay and were shunted to one of the two buildings separate from the main hotel. We were told there was a lift, which wasn't true, and had to drag our cases up steps to the building and then up a flight of stairs to our 2nd floor room. The room was tiny, with bars at the window, and quite depressing. The bathroom's shower cubicle was fairly small and a large person would have a problem getting in it. Breakfast was OK. It was quite far from everywhere and I would not make a return visit.

Room Tip: Demand a room in the main hotel block.
