I was given a room literally at the front door of the hotel next to the elevators, breakfast room, and front desk. The hotel concierge spoke very little english (and was well past retirement age) and refused to change my room even though I could hear him coughing 5 feet away. My colleague I was traveling with was put in a different hotel as her room had 'a guest who was sick' in it the night before....no more explanation than that.
For 100 Euro's a night, you get what you pay for....but this whole situation was bad and I found my converted office....err...room to not be comfortable at all with a bathroom that hadn't been updated since it was installed in the 60s and a really loud lobby to listen to all night. AVOID this place. Period.

I wanted to thank You for your wonderful review but luckily for me this review doesn't find any feedback with the previous ones the hotel had, until now. I think that when you act so hateful, it would be better to remain in silence and please don't dump Your frustrations on people who work all day long to improve their establishment. I want You to remember that in 1960 steel showers and faucets Gessi (design items) were not yet present on the market. I want You to point out that such judgments, don't do anything else but to ruin an activity and only with the excuse that he had a room that I recognize, too, that it is not among the best, here is well said among us the following saying that you cannot generalize something by seeing only a part of it.
I really hope that this type of evaluation system may one day be introduced also in his profession. His rudeness and arrogance can be seen clearly in the judgment released on my employee, who not by case is one of the most pleasant and friendly, and remember that from the adults You can always learn a thing or two. See the reinstatement of premature retirements, which is taking place in his own country (they are the so-called Baby Boomers).I am fully aware of not owning the Grand Hotel of Roma, and also equally aware of not having a hovel as You describe it, therefore it Would need a little more sensitivity when using words.
Thanking You Yours faithfully.

The location is great, rooms are very clean and elegant, personnel is very friendly and professional, breakfast is included and" italyan style". We had a great experience and we'll advise our friends to come and spend a wonderful time in a very affordable, great location and friendly hotel. It's minutes ago of the Fontana Trevi, shopping area and most interesting museums. It's cross the street of the Museum of Modern Art.

Great place to stay if you want to be away from the main tourist attractions. Easy bus ride to everything. The staff was extremely helpful and flexible with our stay. Stay away from the rooms on main floor, a little noisy.

We where in Kent Hotel in ocotober for a period of 4 days. Tje room that we received was on the first floor right next to the reception, but we didn't had any trouble with the noise. The staff was very polite expecialy the nice lady from the buffet( she was from Romania and we receive some valuable information from her).
The room was ok( it could be bigger), but i think that the bed was too big and that's why we thought the room was small. Nice and clean bathroom.
The breakfast was very italian, so don't expect to eat too much( but this is italy).
You can reach the center of the town very easy, borghese park and gallery is 5 min.
A lot of restaurants in the area( tipical italian restaurants)
Overall, if you are not spending too much time in the room, and you are looking for i nice quiet hotel i recomend Kent Hotel.

Choose this hotel if you are looking for a reasonable price and a good location - in the sense of not too touristy but near enough to the sights.

The area around the hotel, near Porta Pia, is authentically Roman - nearby you can enjoy an expresso at a "Tea Room", an ice cream at a "gelateria" or look on bemused as the waiters at the local "Trattoria" disappear to watch the replay of a goal AS Roma has just scored. This is the authentic experience, a hint of real Rome, and I'd recommend that to any traveller. For all this, Piazza Repubblica is just 15 minutes' walk away and a bus will have you at any of the Colisseum, the main station (Termini) or the Vatican in half an hour.

As for the hotel itself, it has good and bad points. On the good - the receptionist was very good at directing us to the sights and advising on public transport; the information was good; the basics in the room were fine (a minibar for a hotel of this size is a plus). On the bad - the whole place is very compact (ok, it's small!); there is barely space to walk around the bed and the bathroom is small; the breakfast room is tiny and, on occasions, you need to wait for service (that said, there is an advantage to this as we got to chat to other guests and compare tourist notes); the television is also small and (as of October 2012) offers only Italian channels. Also, our view was terrible, there was no hint of WiFi, and the bed was a rock.

Nevertheless, I would recommend it on balance, particularly if you will be doing a lot of walking around Rome (in which case you won't need a TV and you won't notice the bed!) - I feel our visit to Rome was greatly enhanced by being able to see the sights (we feel we saw everything we wanted to see in our 72-hour stay, so the hotel is certainly close enough to accomplish that) while staying at a fairly authentic inner-city location.

After reading few less than favourable reviews over Internet, I had mixed feelings coming to this place. But it turned out to be very nice hotel, spacious room, quiet surroundings. Free but a bit slow Internet access. There is no parking space in the hotel, but they have agreement with the garage nearby. Breakfast is typical Italian one, which means almost no breakfast, however coffee is excellent. At the time Kent had very reasonable prices, but it is not in the centre and connection to the old city takes a while. Bathroom and especially shower is very small, but for short stay it is possible to survive :)
