“GREAT PLACE TO STAY IN ROME”
Reviewed 2 September 2012

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in August 2012 and were very pleased. The location is perfect, in central Rome, opposite Pantheon a few minutes walk to the all main touristic attractions. Fantastic view to Pantheon. Very, very clean!!! Thank you to Valentina, Antonio, Nicola, Simone, Tatiana - they were happy to recommend places to eat and places to visit. The breakfast in the restaurant near hotel was very good. There is nothing negative for us. We stayed in this hotel for five times and we cannot wait to return again.

This was our second stay at the Hotel Abruzzi. The staff are excellent and the hotel is immaculately clean. We stayed here again because the location cannot be beat. It was heaven to wake up and look out the window and see the Pantheon every morning. The hotel's air conditioning had to work overtime while we were there as it was hellishly hot even by Rome's standards. The rooms are small but comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style at street cafe across from the hotel, not great but not bad either by Italian standards. The only negative was that internet service had to be paid for separately. Not a big deal but just a little annoyance. On the whole, another good stay at the Hotel Abruzzi.

We stayed for 3 nights and were very pleased . The location is excellent. The breakfast is included i. You get a coupon in the morning to get your breakfast in a restaurant accross the piazza . The breakfast has good selections and is very pleasant to eat looking at the magnificent Pantheon. In our last day, our departure time was at 4 am. The hotel delivered a bag containing an apple juice, a croissant, a small package of toast and a bottle of water so we can have breakfast before our deparrture. What a great gesture!!

The hotel room has a coffee maker (not very common in Europe.)

We recently booked 4 rooms for a party of 12 at the Hotel Abruzzi. We had stayed at the hotel before in January. Initially we found our bedroom to be smaller than we had expected and upon mentioning this to the reception staff, we were quickly moved to a larger room. The staff at the hotel are friendly and the location of the hotel cannot be beaten. Breakfast is taken sitting outside a cafe overlooking the Pantheon. Having stayed at various hotels in Rome over several years, we have found the Abruzzi to be situated in the best location. The hotel is small and family run and we would not hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: Try to book a room with a view of the Pantheon

Tiny simple convenient hotel in the historic center of Roma. Direct view on the Pantheon. Except the awful breakfast (voucher for a nearby caffe), we had a nice stay. Clean room, clean bathroom. Basic OK 3 stars.

I booked this simply because of the location, I love Piazza dela Rotunda. I paid extra to overlook the square and had a beautiful view of the Pantheon.
The welcome was good and the Reception staff were friendly and helpful, giving us good advice.
The room was small but comfortable, bed, aircon, shower, etc all fine. The square is very busy and despite this we were able to sleep well both in the afternoon and in the evening, demonstrating decent sound proofing.
Breakfast is taken in the il Scusate Ritardo cafe across the square, which was lovely, good quality buffet and the most fantastic place to sit particularly at that time of day, before the hoards arrived. The cafe also gives 15% discount to residents of the hotel.
Definitely recommend this hotel. Not only are you in the lovely square but lots of important sites are a very short distance away so it cuts down on wasted time and energy travelling.

Having ben many times in Rome before, I find Pantheon one of the most awesome buildings I know. Going for a hotel in the real centre this time, the Abruzzi was a natural choice. We specifically asked for a room in the high floors, overlooking Pantheon. And what a view it was! We spent much time, in the morning, afternoon, and evening, just watching the Pantheon, the people walking around, street musicians, gladiators, and other street action. It was so fascinating, such an experience.

Adding that the room was great, service impeccable, and breakfast (served in a local cafe on the other side of the Piazza della Rotunda) super - the Abruzzi is highly recommended!
