The hotel is in a beautiful old building with sweeping, sunlit marble staircases. It may have been a monastery or nunnery in earlier days. Unfortunately, the rooms are only adequate at best, rather small and with almost no work space. Furnishings are rather shabby (e.g. linoleum floors with worn patches) and the shower is tiny. Breakfast is minimal and does not include fruit. However, the front desk staff was helpful and friendly (although not all spoke fluent English) and the rooms were very clean. The hotel is also well-situated for public transport and there are some good restaurants within easy walking distance.
