This is a delightful hotel in which I stay regularly. A rarity in Rome, it is very quiet, no honking horns or speeding cars - although the seagulls can get fairly noisy early in the morning! :) The staff are friendly and welcoming, and respond quickly to any request. The ground-floor rooms are especially nice, with little terraces that open onto the garden. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but there are plenty within ten to fifteen minutes walk on the viale Aventino or off the via Marmorata. On both there are buses which will take you further afield and the metro is ten minutes away on foot at Circo Massimo.
The only problem is the wi-fi. It doesn't reach every part of the hotel, and even when it does it is very hit and miss; between about six and nine p.m. it can virtually come to a halt, presumably because people are returning at the end of the day. If you're on holiday, this may not be too irritating. If you are a business trip (as I have been) it is enough to make you climb the nearest Roman wall with frustration. Recent improvements have changed things for the better a little ... but alas, not enough.
When they get it fixed I will give them five stars without hesitation.More
