Myself and my 19 year old daughter stayed at the re testa for 5 nights from may 28th to June 2nd , we found it a little difficult to find a taxi at ostense station arriving at 10 o clock pm , after the airline lost my bag . Eventually got a taxi after trying to walk to hotel using the gps system on phone , not a good move at that time of night as a few street people rummaging through rubbish , they didn't bother us though . We eventually got to the hotel , the night staff could' nt have been more helpful especially jomar . He told us what were the best places to eat in the neighbourhood (3 or 4 excellent restaurants very near the hotel)Vera the day receptionist was also excellent telling us what busses to get & where from to the main centre & the fantastic sites of Rome , prepare for a lot of walking in Rome , the room was very spacious for two , large bed , 2 tables & chairs for breakfast , all stations on tv in Italian , cannot change language . Bathroom large ,& clean , shower great hot water all the time , excellent cleaning staff & plenty of ' Terry' cloth towels , changed frequently . Breakfast brought to rooms , basic continental including juice , tea , croissants , toast & jam . Would defiantly stay in retesta on returning to Rome hopefully next year , a week is not enough time to see all the sites of Rome . Beware the taxi drivers in Rome make sure they know where you are going & the price before you get in ,I had one trying to rip us off on the way to the train station to get to the airport , be prepared to argue your case & not get ripped off . Again Vera in the hotel was very nice & sympathetic on ringing her to communicate our experience of taxi driver

Was good value for money with great restaurants opposite.
Only downside was cleanliness and the fact there was a club next door meant extreme noise levels every night. Think vibrations.

Room Tip: Opposite side to main road

Brand new hotel in Testaccio. Clean and big rooms, with a small kitchen/ desk and flatscreen HDTV. The location is above some shops and bars. From the outside it doesn't look appealing, but the rooms are ok.
