We stayed at the Re Testa in Feb 2014. We are a family of four, myself, my husband, and our 2 sons. We were really happy with our rooms, they were clean and spacious, with the added bonus of our own kitchen area. We did find upon arrival, that our toilet seat was broken, so we reported it, and it was fixed immediately. The Staff were really friendly, and helpful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast is nothing special, but it's adequate. Our rooms were situated towards the back of the Hotel, so it was reasonably quiet, although we stayed Mon to Fri, so missed most of the nightlife! We all slept well, the beds were comfy, and the rooms comfortably warm. We asked for transportation to the airport on our last day, and it was quickly and efficiently arranged. We would be very happy to come back and stay.

Room Tip: If you want some peace and quiet, ask for a room at the back, away from the main street.

This is one i must say without sliding that its a good hotel to stay, but not THE BEST hotel if you are looking some additional services. I stayed with my spouse and an infant baby. Rooms are clean and neat.

Me and my spouse really liked the breakfast they provide with nice roman crussaints. The stafs are very humble and helpful.

It's near to walkable tram/bus stop where you have a good transport options, (though you should not rely on the the timings, obviously !!!) towards major attractions like vatiacn city, colosseum and museums, especially.

The only thing i suggest them to improve their kitchen utensils, keep them neat and clean, thats all !!!

Enjoy your vacation!!!

Room Tip: Better you stay off from the road side rooms.. i heard the vehicles in rome HONK a lot !!!

We were given street side rooms right across from a very loud and run down wine bar that played music from 8 pm until 6 am. All night, we heard drunk people shouting and blaring music and did not sleep for three nights. In the morning, the streets were littered with trash, empty bottles and people still drunk from the night before. I guess it's been a problem before because the front desk said they've called the police on the wine bar several times before (obviously to no avail).

The room was nice, the kitchen was well supplied, breakfast was adequate but the front desk, depending on who was there, was rather rude and unhelpful (especially during the day shift).

All in all, we will NEVER book a room here again. I would definitely stay away and find a quieter hotel.

Dear Cjy04,

We are so sorry for all the issues in our hotel. Apologize for that, we try always to improve our service for the customers.
This hotel is located in a zone in Rome full of pubs and night life, however we try to make customers trip as confortable as possible.
If you wish, we have others hotels in Rome and i think the best for your needs would be in the centre close to Colosseo.
For us will be a pleasure if you will return in Rome and i'm sure this time will be better of the other one.

Many thanks for your feedback from all the staff Hotel Re Testa

My girlfriend and I stayed at Re Testa for 5 days in Oct. The hotel offers nice and a comfortable rooms with an open balcony. The Staff was nice and helpful + you get a nice breakfest including Coffee/Tea,Bread,Toast and Croissants. It is a bit far from the center but you can either take a bus or go to the nearest metro "Piramide", it's about 15/20 minutes walk. There are a few great restaurants around the area. The internet connection (Wi-Fi) was fast and worked great.

There is a nice food Market (it has some clothes and shoes bargains) right next to the hotel and a Modern art museum in front of it - they are both recommended!

We had a great stay! Enjoy!

6 days stay went very well. Nice and a comfortable room with a open balcony. At weekends it can be noisy outside but this is how it is there. A Pizzaria just round the corner and nearest metro "Piramide" is about 15/20 minutes walk. There are a few restaurants around the are too. Staff were very helpful and once you get to the metro station you have easy access to most of the tourist attractions. Internet connection gave us a bit of a trouble too but overall experience was fine.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel in August for only one night since we had to fly out early the next day. The hotel is situated in a lovely little neighbourhood, what is in my opinion the best part of Rome. If you want to get away from all the tourists and the crappy food, you want to stay in Testaccio. Right across the hotel is where we had some of the BEST pasta and gelato!!

The hotel itself is lovely - great spacious and clean rooms with balcony. Staff is equally great. In fact I have to mention one particular reception attendant/security guard. We had to check out at 4am on August 30th and we slept in having partied the night away in Testavere (also highly recommended). The reception attendant was a lovely man who, although he didn't speak too much English, was very helpful. He tried to get us a cab but something was wrong with the taxi machine. He also couldn't reach someone by phone. I was stressed out having slept in and may have been a little too firm with him. I'd just like to apologize for this...I'm blaming pre-flight jitters. :)

All in all....hotel is highly recommended.

Room Tip: We stayed on the main floor. Had great balcony space!

We are very happy that you've left a review about our hotel.
Thanks to this kind of reviews that we always give our maximum in our work in welcoming our customers and making sure that their overnight pass it in the best way possible.
Unfortunately it was not our fault if the taxi companies have not responded at 4:00 in the morning but unfortunately it is always hard to find something at this hour of the morning.

If one day you decide to go another time for your holiday in Rome we will be happy to welcome you again in our hotel or if you wish in our other hotel located near the coliseum to be even closer to the prime attractions of Rome.

Many thanks for your feedback from all the staff of Re Testa Hotel

I was on a six week consulting engagement and stayed at Hotel Re Testa.

I had concerns as had read the reviews and was concerned regarding noise and beds. In the six weeks was there, I was woken by noise in the hallway three different times and never by noise coming from the adjacent room. Traffic or noise from the hallway outside the room can be heard inside the room. I would recommend even numbered rooms, as they are not overlooking the street and there are several night clubs with bands on the street the odd numbered rooms overlook.

Regarding beds, I like a firm bed so slept okay and did not find the beds too hard, but can see where if someone likes a soft bed, then they would find the beds uncomfortable.
Hotel was clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water.

Staff were very helpful whenever I had questions or needed help and the breakfast was fine (coffee, fruit juice, coronetto, bread roll, toast, biscuit, jams, and cheese spread).

There are several very nice restaurants in the area, as well as grocery store for buying food items if do not want to always go out. The kitchenette had all the basic pans, dishes, and utensils. The drawback is that neither dish soap, dish rag, dish cloth, or napkins are provided.

The walk from the hotel to the metro stop is about 15-20 minutes and through a nice neighborhood.

Room Tip: Think even numbered rooms are quiter as they do not overlook a busy street with night clubs.
