We stayed at the hotel when visiting to watch the Italy/ England Rugby match, the staff were really helpful and great compact rooms in the main half of the hotel. Nice buffet breakfast and courtyard to use. It has a small bar and communal lounge that was well used. It wad slightly out of the city but a easy 5min walk to the Metro where you could get to central Rome in 5min. Great service on the Metro and very safe on the roads walking to and from the station.

There's a lovely park well worth a walk round at the bottom of the street.

We decided to book an extra night where we transferred to the other part of the hotel across the courtyard which was very dated. Couldn't get wifi in the room and with the marble floors and early rising cleaners made for a less comfortable stay.

So ask to stay in the main part of the hotel and you will have an enjoyable stay.

Took some finding from the Terminii Station but was pleasantly surprised when we arrived.
Pleasant staff on reception, creaky lift took us to the 3rd floor with a window overlooking Via Eustachio Bartolomeo. Room was very clean as was the bathroom but the shower drained very slowly meaning you had to watch the water level.
Breakfast catered for all tastes and the waitress was very pleasant.
The area is quiet enough but if you want to sleep with the windows open, take ear plugs as the ambulances like to be noisy all night.
All in all recommended for a short break but get a good map as the ones that the Hotel have does not cover where the Hotel is!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in June/July 2013. This hotel is maximum 5 minutes walking distance to the nearest metro (Pollicino - not sure on the spelling), which allows you to get to any major tourist destination in the city. The buffet breakfast was great before a day out. It consisted of traditional scrambled egg, toast etc... Our room was good for just sleeping in (as we didn't spend much time in the hotel!) and the bathroom was modern - however would advise to maybe bring your own towel, they didn't really dry you properly! We had an issue with our room as it was separate from the rest of the hotel but the lady on reception was happy enough to let us change rooms and was a great help. Villa Torlonia is right on the hotel's doorstep which has a lovely park to walk around. Lovely restaurants about a 10 minute walk away - there was one restaurant which did a great antipasti and cabonara! Very friendly hotel staff and great location for exploring the city! Would definitely visit again and would recommend to anyone who wants to explore Rome in a slightly quieter neighbourhood!

I've been here a little over a week on business and have no complaints! Location is great, staff are friendly and Breakfast is great, the waitress in the morning will always say good morning always smiling! and laundry service is fast, expensive but worth it. I would definitely stay here again!!

Room Tip: Stay in the main building and level 2 if possible

I stayed here with my mum over Christmas in 2012. I didn't write a review at the time, but having just returned from Rome for a second time, and on this recent occasion staying at the more expensive Hotel Residenza Luxury, I felt compelled to write to say how much I wish I had returned to Villa Torlonia instead. It was much better! Torlonia is really a B&B as there appeared to be no restaurant beyond the breakfast room, but who wants to eat in a hotel when in Rome?! The breakfast was fabulous- a lovely range with a wonderfully chatty, friendly waitress. The reception staff were also extremely friendly and helpful. The room was basic but very comfortable, with a clean, modern bathroom. Complimentary toiletries were supplied. To our surprise the room had large French doors leading to a super stone balcony you could sit out on, with views over the orange trees. The area itself is upmarket and quiet- you do have to walk for about 10 mins to find a restaurant, but the walk is pleasant, past beautiful buildings. Great stay, all in all.
