We booked two different stays over the past few weeks and both were perfect! The entire staff is wonderful- i'm afraid to name names as i'll leave someone out-but here goes! Rosa, Allessandro, Simon, Georgia, were all very helpful and always pleasant! We love the neighborhood as you can walk to the Cavour Metro Stop, the Colosseum and there is a grocery market just up the road and a laundry service right next door. In fact we walked everywhere- Pantheon, Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navonna, Spanish Steps, Trastevere and even the Vatican. Restaurants abound. Our rooms (27 & 34) were both fine for our needs. Both were quiet as well. Breakfast was enough to start the day- bakery products, meats, cheese, yogurt, granola and fantastic coffee-- which i'm already missing!!

Stayed here April 2014 - The hotel is in a fantastic location, within walking distance to the Colosseum and other major attractions. The hotel staff were very helpful, able to recommend where to visit and eat. There are plenty of nice restaurants with walking distance. On arrival the receptionist spent a good 15 minutes explaining to us where to go and where to avoid on a map. The hotel is excellent value for money. Breakfast is continental and the rooms are a little on the small side but that is to be expected in Rome. I would defiantly recommend to everyone thinking of staying here.

Was in Rome for 4 days at Grifo and it was perfect. The location is amazing, the colosseum is just down the street. The rooms were comfortable, we had a 3 person room and each of us got our own bed that was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked great (had to turn it down a lot actually). The breakfast buffet was also really good. Most importantly the hotel staff were exceptional. The restaurant recommendations they gave us were great, they told us about local events we would have missed (a big fireworks show for St.Paul and St.Peters day at the vatican), and they gave us a lot of good advice in general. When one of us got sick and needed a doctor they helped us get an english speaking doctor who was very good. If I ever go back to Rome I would definitely stay there again.

Located between Colosseum and Trevi Fountain, easy walking distance to all of old Rome, this hotel is great! We had a front room, looking out over the "street". Room was small, but perfect, very clean, breakfast lovely. Highly recommend this hotel, helpful staff too!

Centrally located to all Rome sites and a short taxi or train ride to the Vatican. Staff was wonderful with helpful suggestions. Room with rooftop terrace was perfect for our family. Hotel of choice should we ever return.

We visited Rome again this year, but were disappointed by this hotel. We got the rooms with a private balcony, so these would be on the very top. We had so much heavy luggage, so the lift would take you to the 4th floor, and then you'd have to continue on through the stairs- very inconvenient. You'd think you'd get more if you paid more. The rooms really need updating very bad. It is one thing to be in the oldest part of Rome, but another very different to have the rooms looking like then. The restroom was good, but the shower was extremely small. You could barely move around in there. No toiletries were provided daily, including toilet paper. The AC was not very cold, and the rooms are very dark. You could barely walk around, and the bed gets on the way so you must close the door to pass through the room. The "private" terrace seemed to have been shared with someone else (which I did read was possible, shared or private). The plastic cover of the roof of the terrace with the wind was being folded and being torn, it was old anyway. Breakfast was OK, just the usual. Also, no iron for clothes, so don't ask (what hotel doesn't have this??) Anywho, I would not stay here again, as I stated, this hotel needs a major renovation work, perhaps the curtains, wallpaper, beds and pretty much everything else. The TV did not also work except for 2 channels, all others said "signal lost." We had stayed closer to the colosseum in an apartment-style last year (Residenza Leonina), but there was no service until after 3 days. I will opt again for that next year regardless.
