The hotel itself is pretty basic, there's not much to do in the evening in terms of chilling out in the room before going to sleep. The staff are amazing, they're so friendly and very helpful. The location was perfect - right in the centre of Rome and a few minutes walk from all of the attractions and sights.

In the most characteristic neighborhood of the city:
Rione Monti.

Our staff will be always at your disposal to help you add a little bit of magic at your experience with valuable advices.
to live our city as true Romans.
Fresh, local and high quality products,

The wifi could be a bit slow and our room was very small with no kind of view, but they are the only 2 slight negatives as it was very clean with a/c and tbh we weren't in it much anyway and for the price in the centre of Rome it was fab. Breakfast was simple but at 5 euros very reasonable. However the location is brilliant, not just in terms of it's location to most of the sights but also on a nice cobbled side street that was quiet but still close to some great restaurants, snack bars, local shops and a pharmacy and 3 mins walk to the nearest tube which is one stop from the central Termini. The staff was so friendly and helpful and their tips for what to visit and when were brilliant and enabled us to skip queues, see things we wouldn't have known about and eat and drink in some great local restaurants and go for breakfast where the locals go in a coffee bar. There was also a free welcome drink which we enjoyed on the terrace on the 4th floor (there is a lift to all floors). Thoroughly recommend

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your so kind comment!
We are so happy that your stay was good and that you had a good experience in our Hotel. Our staff try to give you everyday a good souvenir of our City.
Our quartier, Rione Monti is one of the best because you can reach on foot all the main attractions and you can find also a lot of good local restaurants, bars and shops.
We decide to divide our breakfast into a continental Buffet and a menu where you have the possibility to choose products cooked at the moment. Our menu lists all the products we carefully prepare every day.The fruit varies according to seasons, in order to always offer you the best quality. Our fresh croissants are delivered by the bakery every morning. The cured meats ( turkey and pork) are local and only come from Italian breeding and a lots of other products.

Hope to see you again,

Thank you!

The location was amazing, right in the heart of Rome near the ancient sites, 5 minute walk to the Forum, Coliseum, 10 minute walk to Trevi Fountain, Pantheon or Termini station. 25-30 minute walk to the Vatican. Amazing food options all around within 5-10 minute walking distance. Lively night scene with lots of outdoor bars and even a few dance clubs if you are interested.

The service and helpfulness of the staff was also wonderful and almost everyone spoke excellent English. Eva and Luighi were our main contacts and they worked SO HARD. They were always so helpful in making us feel welcome and gave us wonderful suggestions for dining or sight-seeing.

We did run into a small problem on our first night where the AC was not working properly. They did their best to make us comfortable that night with a circulating fan, but it was a rough night. The next day they offered to move us without us insisting and the room was wonderful. They also discounted our first night, without us insisting again. Very nice people, always smiles and ready to help you in an instant. We've already recommended Hotel Grifo to some friends visiting in Rome for their honeymoon also.

We had a lovely private balcony that I spent some time smoking Cigars on and there was free internet, although coverage was a bit spotty in some locations. The bathroom was also nice and clean, although it could have used a towel hook.

The bed was not as comfortable as we would like, my wife struggled with this more than I did but once the AC was sorted we were happy overall with the accommodations.

Room Tip: The lower floor rooms seem to be newer, cooler, with better AC. The single elevator is slower and smaller than you may be used to.

Dear Rachel,

Thank you for spend your time to write a so good revieuw about our Hotel. The Hotel Grifo is in the most central part of Rome! We think that the best way to visit Rome is walking: Colosseo just 5 minutes, other main attractuions 10/15 minutes. Only the vatican is 40 minutes on foot but is a pleasant walk. We remenìmber you that the beauty of Rome are the small streets that you can discover only on foot.
Explaining the map for us is a pleasure and we are ready to give you information about the best roman location and restaurant. Our staff is really prepared about the city and everyone speak English and other languages, to help you to feel like at Home.
We try only to give at our guests a beautiful stay in Rome!
When there is a problem our staff do the possible to resolve the problem as soon as possible, so do not forget to ask all you needs at the reception desk that is open 24 hours.

We are looking forward to accomodate you again!

Hotel Grifo is situated in a small side street about 7 minutes walk from the Colosseum and the Forum. Metro stations are close by for anyone needing them, and the buses run frequently from via Nazionale, just a few minutes walk away.

The hotel itself is old and well looked after. The reception staff (we remember Luigi, Eva, Alen and Rosa) have unbelievable knowledge of the city, the sights, places to eat, visit, how to get around and anything else you could need. They were all most helpful, cheerful and capable. They helped us make the most of our few days in the city.

We stayed in a room in a separate building; rooms are basic but very clean. The room was bigger than those in the main building and had air conditioning. It was reasonably quiet and we were pleased to have a change of bedding and towels every day as it was so hot.

Each morning breakfast was served in the main hotel. There was a good choice of bread and pastries, as well as the offer of scrambled eggs and turkey. Coffee and other hot drinks were available from a machine and fresh juices, cheeses and spreads and biscuits were on offer also.

There are plenty of small eateries within walking distance, whether gelaterias, cafes, bars or restaurants. A couple of small supermarkets are close by too.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone with limited time, as the reception staff are so helpful.

Dear guest,

Thank you for your comment!
We remaind you that in our hotel we have different types or rooms. In the separated building the rooms are so cured and quiet. Our neighborhood is not so noisy because the Hotel is located in a restricted area where can access with car only residents. Fo the other it is forbidden. So you can walk in the small streets also with child because there is not a lot of traffic like other quartier of Rome.
Fresh, local and high quality products,
this is the food you can find on our continental buffet and in our special menù.
Hotel Grifo proposes new colourful and local breakfast. For this is so good and fresh everyday.
We remember you also that our Hotel uses only hypoallergenic and biological products for the care of the person and the cleaning of the rooms. We take a lot of care of our guests.
Thank you again for choosing our Hotel in Rome!

The location of the hotel is excellent. You can visit all the major sightseeings on foot, except Vatican. There is also a metro station nearby.

The rooms are small and old fashioned but very clean and tidy. Maybe a renovation is necessary but it's ok. The receptions are very professional and polite. Do not hesitate to ask them whatever info you like about your staying.

I have also to mention that the breakfast is well cooked, with very fresh ingredients and tasty. Not something visually spectacular or with high oh factor but very tasty and high quality.

In general, I am very satisfied with this hotel.

Dear Ioannis,

Thank you for choosing our Hotel. It is really true, our rooms are small, in fact our hotel is located in a historic building in one of the oldest neighborhoods of Rome. We remember you that our Hotel is not a luxory Hotel but just a 3 stars Hotel. From here you can reach all the main attractions on foot and fell the true magic experience of our City. Becuase the beauty of Rome are not the big streets but le little streets hoidden in the small neighborhoods like our.
Our breakfast is composed only with fresh products also cooked at the moment.
Our staff do the possible to make your stay unforgettable with good advices about restaurants, tours and the city.
There is always someone ready to welcome and to help you bacuase the reception is open 24 hours. So also your arrival time is not a problem, you can take also a flight that will land at night! We are open all the day.

Hope to see you again!

Grazie davvero
