My wife and I stayed at Hotel Grifo for 5 days after a two week coach tour.We stayed in many different hotels along the way and I would have to say our best experience was at the Hotel Grifo. We arrived early (11am) but after a quick check a smiling Allesandro was happy to tell us our room was ready. The room was just as we expected to be small, clean and charming. We really liked the fact that we were at the front of the building over looking the street. My wife liked to open the windows and shudders first thing every morning and watch as people in the area were off to work or taking there kids to school. I liked to watch in the evening as everybody was coming home.It gave us a real feel for the every day life of the Roman people.Every morning after a good breakfast I would have a chat with Allesandro and get my weather report or any advice I would need for the day.It was like staying in a village within Rome. The area is full of restaurants, small shops and no one trying to sell you a scarf (if you been to Rome you know what I mean). You are close to many of the major attractions of Rome. There is a metro and bus stop nearby .Having read reviews about the small bathrooms we chose to also have one down the hall.In our room was a toilet, sink ,mirror and space for your morning things .Down a very short hall we had all of the same plus the shower. We had a key for the shower room and it was only for us during our stay. It worked out great for us to get ready at the same time.We used the free internet in the bar area a few times. There is a grocery store down the street where we bought some food and wine and had a late lunch on the terrace one day.Very nice. There is a refridgerator in the room to keep any supplies cold.If one day I come back to Rome,Hotel Grifo will be where I stay .We would like to thank everyone at Hotel Grifo for making our stay a wonderfull experience.

Alessandro was a wonderful help. He was on the day shift, just when we needed advice, suggestions and directions. Rosa was also helpful in the evening. Their command of English was more than adequate. Our room was not huge, but plenty big enough to move around in. Hotel has a cosy little eating room for the included breakfast, one of the best we had on our trip. There is a computer in the adjoining bar area for (free) use by guests. Just ask Alessandro for a password. Location was great for walking or catching city busses. We recommend the nearby Carbonara restaurant. I’d go back tomorrow!!!!!

I've visited Rome before and found this hotel perfect for a comfortable and happy stay. The location is excellent for walking to all the main attractions. Bed and room are typical, but very clean. We stayed in a room on the 4 fourth floor and our window opened out onto a covered garden terrace. The terrace was the perfect place to rest and regroup after walking around the city. Our bathroom was very clean and larger than most, private, but outside our room. This was totally fine for me because the bathroom was ours privately, but if this would bother you ask for an en suite. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially if this is your first time to the city.

Room small but clean. Staff is exellent and friendly and breakfast was great. Location was right in the heart of things, near the Colloseum and walking distance to the train station.
