“No better Value for your money!”
Reviewed 3 August 2010

My girlfriend and I spent 4 nights at Hotel Parlamento this July- the location is excellent as the reviews state, it REALLY is steps from all the major sights in Rome at an incredible price. The room we stayed in wasn’t luxurious, but more than comfortable for us both. You will see some mixed reviews on this site about the rooms and bathrooms… you have to put things in perspective… when paying 100 euros per night don’t expect 5 star amenities! The bed was a little hard but the hote; including our room, was kept extremely clean. The bathroom was more than big enough with a Jacuzzi bath and shower, toilet, bidet and sink.

It was a comfortable place to stay after long days walking through the city. Breakfast was good but without much variety… but again considering the price and the location (who cares!!!!) ; The hotel staff are wonderful. They were friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable, offering tips that made our wonderful vacation in Rome even more pleasant. A special thanks to Tiziano who always went the extra mile! Air conditioning was an extra 12 Euros per day was necessary as the hotel is on the 4th floor so there’s no escaping the direct sun; Our room opened on to the lovely rooftop terrace which is ideal for a late day glass of wine, breakfast or for a bit of quiet time- so, when you reserve ask for this room! We highly recommend Hotel Parlamento and should we return to Rome, this is where we will stay!

Great location and great value! From this hotel, all major sites are in walking distance. We never needed a cab! Hotel Parlamento is very clean and the staff is welcoming and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I spent 9 nights at Hotel Parlamento. We found the hotel through TripAdvisor and through a travel guide. While location seemed excellent, we were a little nervous about what we might find especially given the reasonable room rates. Our worries were unfounded. The room we stayed in was not huge, but plenty big enough for the bed and to move around. The bathroom was very nicely done, including a small Jacuzzi shower. The sliding door between bathroom and room was a little challenging to close. The hotel, including our room, was kept extremely clean. It was a comfortable place to stay after long days walking through the city. Breakfast was good but without variety; after 9 days we were ready for a change. Then again, it was included with the room. The hotel staff are magnificent. They were friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable, offering tips that made our wonderful vacation in Rome even more pleasant. We already miss them! Air conditioning was an extra 12 Euros per day and there is a fee for high speed internet but given the inexpensive base rate it is still a deal especially given the prime location. The hotel is on the 4th floor; be prepared for stairs or you can take the small, but nice elevator to the landing right below the reception. A small room bar fridge would be the one amenity we would have liked. Take advantage of the lovely terrace for late day glass of wine, breakfast or for a bit of quiet time. We were fortunate to have a room that opened directly to the terrace. We recommend Hotel Parlamento to our friends and family. Should we return to Rome, this is where we will stay.

We keep returning to the Parlamento for many reasons. The location is wonderful, the staff is friendly, helpful and very professional and the value is superb. The three rooms we have stayed in were moderate in size and very well arranged. The bathrooms were very nice and everything was very clean. The rooftop terrace was a great outdoor space to read or have a glass of wine. We will continue to return to the Parlamento when we visit Rome in the future.

I stayed here one night at the end of a two week trip through Italy. It is located very close to the Spanish Steps and Trevie Fountain but you had to pay extra for A/C, internet access, and drop your room key at the desk anytime you left. I would recommend looking for another hotel unless you are planning on spending a lot of time in the area.

Dear Client,In answer to some of the observations you expressed on Trip Advisor. Our website clearly states that a/c and internet access are not free. The a/c has a cost, as the majority of our clients prefer not to use it, opting for natural room temperature. Market research has shown us that only a small percentage of clients want a/c or internet access. Therefore to keep our room rates as low as possible, we have decided to add these charges only to the clients who request these services. As you would have noticed, we give an individual remote control to clients so that they can choose their desired room temperature. Regarding the room key; in the majority of Italian hotels the owner requests the key be dropped off for safety reasons; it is also a moment to catch up with clients. However, I hope to see you at the Hotel Parlamento again, and for a longer stay. Kind regards Plinio Chini, Owner

This hotel has a great location, good security, and a great staff. Otherwise, I would say that it is an average hotel. We were in Room 96 which has a kingsize bed (2 beds pushed together, but very comfortable). The pillows were thin. The room was small but adequate. The bathroom was not great. The biggest problem was the shower head. It was not a handheld shower and because the shower stall was about 30 inches by 30 inches, when the shower was on, it filled the whole shower stall. To shower we had to shut off the water and soap up and then turn the water on to rinse. I think if they replaced the shower head, it would be a huge improvement. The bathroom was a little dark and it was hard to see when putting on makeup or inserting contact lenses.. There was one plug in the entire room- near the sink. When you turn off the bathroom light the plug does not work, so you can't charge your electronics unless you leave the light on. This hotel was the only hotel we stayed at that did not have free Wi-Fi. It was actually sort of nice not to be connected, so I am not sure that is a negative. IF you really need the Wi-Fi or internet point, there was a nominal charge.

Breakfast was so-so but adequate enough to fill us up until lunch. The staff was more than accomodating and they made the place.. The location could not be better. We were able to walk to the Spanish step and the Trevi Fountain in the evening. Don't mis them after dark.

Dear Client,In answer to some of the observations you expressed on Trip Advisor. When we renovated room 96 we installed the largest shower that was possible; soaping up then rinsing off helps save water! With regard to the electrical plugs; there three [3] of them in this room. One under the desk and another two under each nightstand. The additional one in the bathroom is only used for razors. Our website clearly states that internet access is at a small cost. I look forward to seeing you soon at our hotel. Kind regards Plinio Chini, Owner

Location...best location in Rome. Walking distance to most sights, restaurants, shopping, banks etc. There is a large bus station just down the street and right across the street there was pizza and gelato available.
Staff...very friendly and helpful.. especially Tiziano. They all made you feel welcome. Tiziano went out of his way to help arrange tours and transportation for us. Even arranged our transportation from the port to the airport after our cruise 10 days after we checked out. Whenever we had questions someone was always there ready and willing with answers.
Hotel...the roof top terrace was wonderful. It was a pleasant escape for breakfast, a glass of wine or just read a book. Rooms were on the small side (normal for Rome) but clean and comfy. A special touch to the continental breakfast was the cappuccino.
At the Hotel Parlamanto they made you feel welcomed as well as safe and secure.
