My wife and I stayed here 3 nights last month on our honeymoon. Room was ok, very dark..but it was enough. Breakfast was just ok, but the cappuccino was to die for. Front desk staff helpful..advised us when best time to see the Forum and Colosseum were. We ended up eating at a few local restaurants by the train station. I'd advise to eat closer into Rome, as these places close to the Termini were very "ehhh" and not Italian. How do you eat in Rome, with an Indian guy, serving Ravioli? The wifi in here--awful!

We booked a double room and got 2 singles pushed together, half the time they would come apart. The shower did not drain fast enough so you would end up standing in a puddle of water. You could not have 2 people shower after one another or the shower would overflow. The wifi never worked half the time and only one device can be connected. Every time I wanted to use the internet it would work then stop suddenly, sometimes I had to wait for a couple of hours for it to work again. Breakfast was average, the milk would just be sitting out, who knows how long for...

The hotel is only good for its location. The front desk staff is cold at best, unsmiling and rude (particularly the Indian-looking girl), the wifi connection is terrible, the breakfast is vile, the coffee tastes awful, the bathroom stinks of sewage. Never. Again.

The hotel and the room are very clean. The size of the bedroom and the bathroom is small, but for the price paid it is difficult to complain. We only came to the hotel late in the evening and leaving in the morning, so the room is still more than enough. The location is nice, close to the train station and most of the sites to visit, within 1 to 3 km walk. Very little choice for the breakfast, and not of good quality, but when you book the hotel you know it's not a 5 stars hotel !
Wifi is free for one device only, afterwards you have to pay an additional 2eur for each internet code access.
I would recommend this hotel if you're visiting Rome, and not staying at the hotel.

We were very impressed with Emmanuele. We requested a particular room for our Anniversary at this hotel but, instead he's given us a choice whether to stay there or at their sister hotel close to the Spanish steps right on Via Condotti which is an expensive and more central part of Rome! And get this, it's all for the same price but, with more benefits and perks! Grazie E Arrivederci Emmanuele! Keep up the great work!

It's true that the area is somewhat sketchy, but it's close to Termini Station so that's a big plus and of course the staff at Hotel Contilia tries to please their guests as much as possible, one just need to communicate openly and respectfully with them. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here if we need to be close to Termini Station in the future.

The hotel is just a few blocks away from the Roma Termini train station. The location is very convenient, but the neighborhood is a little sketchy. When we arrived we were given the option of staying in one of the new rooms in a building two doors down. The room and bathroom were large by European standards; and also quiet as it opened up to the back of the building. The room was non-smoking, but it shared a common sitting area where smoking is permitted. One major drawback is that the Wifi reception in the room was poor, and we needed to go to the lobby to in order to log in to the internet. The breakfast was comparable to other hotels in this price category.

Room Tip: If you do not mind poor Wifi, ask for one of the new rooms.

The front desk staff were very helpful and the breakfast was wonderful. Our room which overlooked a courtyard was extremely quiet, considering that it's located on a busy street. Easy access to main attractions and lots of shops and restaurants around. The room was small for our large family, but they had added a cot at our request. The room was tidied everyday, but the bathroom was not cleaned, but clean towels were provided. Overall a good value and would not hesitate to book there again.

Room Tip: European rooms are much smaller than what we are used to in North America, don't expect lots of...
