We booked one night on short notice in May, and payed 200 e for a superior double room. The room is advertised with pictures of nice view from the windows, so we were a bit surprised and disappointed when we didn't see a thing through our windows as they were smoked glass! So not all rooms are such that you can see outside at all.
The room was quite big and clean, and the decor was interesting and imaginative. The style was quite industrial and cold. There was a huge "army style" wardrobe and to sit there were two beanbags. The room was quiet and functional, but I would'nt call it very cozy...
It seemed that there weren't any curtains or anything in our room, so we slept a bit uncomfortably because the room was so bright. In the morning we noticed that there were a button next to our bed, which was a switch to electric curtains that functioned from outside and were not visible when up. So that was our mistake, although a little bit INFO about our room would have helped. Same thing with the breakfast time, it was nowhere to be seen. The breakfast was served till 10 and was ok though.
All in all, our stay was ok. We felt safe and quite comfortable and the location was ok. The staff was friendly and nice in general. However, some things made me disagree with the rating as a four-star hotel. One thing that was really annoying, was a total lack of wifi connection in the rooms. I mean, come on, in a four star rated hotel you just must have an internet connection in your hotel room in 2010ies!!! But not here - even the regular mobile phone didn't work in the room! Maybe the walls are just too thick or something, but I don't think these things are impossible to arrange!
And when we were leaving, we were supposed to pay the city tax, but surprise surprise, they didn't accept it by credit card! I mean, what do they mean by saying they can't take it by credit card - it's their hotel, of course they are ABLE to do it! We had to go out to the city to find a cash machine, and they even told that the nearest one is on the OTHER SIDE of the river. We walked more than half an hour to find one, and then had to walk back to pay those few euros in cash. AND when we were back, we actually noticed that a small shop almost next to the hotel advertised that they had a cash machine inside. Ha ha. In the end we felt like they just want to make it easy for themselves, not for you...
So I'd say if you get a good deal, go for it, but expect more like 3-star service than 4!
