We chose to stay in this hotel during our visit to Rome mostly because some of its rooms have a nice balcony and we did not regret it.
Its is located on a quiet little street near Tevere river and Vaticano (it is in fact in thw part of the city called Trastevere). Although it is not really close to the city center and the famous places e.g. piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi etc., one can manage to discover and visit every place on foot. It is an old but beautifully renovated building, the reception is a mixture of old and new, rather minimal but charming with a very nice arched stone ceiling. Very friedly, smiling and helpful people that make you feel at home, yet didn't speak English very well.
The room was a little small but convenient and the veranda had a terracota floor, a table with two chairs, some potted plants and a very nice view of the cuppola of an old church on the other side of the river (which you don't see). The breakfast was nice and you could choose the kind of coffee you liked. The only drawback was that in order to approach the entrance of the hotel you had to take a small narrow and dark alley that connected the main street with the street of the hotel. Yet, if you took a taxi it could drive you just in front of the entrance.
As we are not looking for luxury, we don't really like big hotels and we like quiet homely places, we loved it.

Room Tip: The rooms on the last floor have nice balconies.

Well located, the hotel is a bit basic, with very nice staff. They were quite helpful with the suitcases and generally speaking, they made you feel welcome. But that was it. The room wasn't too bad by Roman standards, nicely decorated, but rather small. It overlooked the street, and that was no problem since the street can (amazingly) accommodate one small car. The taxi left me a half block away since it couldn't make it in such a narrow street. Breakfast had all I needed so there was no problem there and there is an excellent restaurant just a few steps away.

Room Tip: Rooms that look to the street seem to be the best.

We booked one night on short notice in May, and payed 200 e for a superior double room. The room is advertised with pictures of nice view from the windows, so we were a bit surprised and disappointed when we didn't see a thing through our windows as they were smoked glass! So not all rooms are such that you can see outside at all.

The room was quite big and clean, and the decor was interesting and imaginative. The style was quite industrial and cold. There was a huge "army style" wardrobe and to sit there were two beanbags. The room was quiet and functional, but I would'nt call it very cozy...

It seemed that there weren't any curtains or anything in our room, so we slept a bit uncomfortably because the room was so bright. In the morning we noticed that there were a button next to our bed, which was a switch to electric curtains that functioned from outside and were not visible when up. So that was our mistake, although a little bit INFO about our room would have helped. Same thing with the breakfast time, it was nowhere to be seen. The breakfast was served till 10 and was ok though.

All in all, our stay was ok. We felt safe and quite comfortable and the location was ok. The staff was friendly and nice in general. However, some things made me disagree with the rating as a four-star hotel. One thing that was really annoying, was a total lack of wifi connection in the rooms. I mean, come on, in a four star rated hotel you just must have an internet connection in your hotel room in 2010ies!!! But not here - even the regular mobile phone didn't work in the room! Maybe the walls are just too thick or something, but I don't think these things are impossible to arrange!

And when we were leaving, we were supposed to pay the city tax, but surprise surprise, they didn't accept it by credit card! I mean, what do they mean by saying they can't take it by credit card - it's their hotel, of course they are ABLE to do it! We had to go out to the city to find a cash machine, and they even told that the nearest one is on the OTHER SIDE of the river. We walked more than half an hour to find one, and then had to walk back to pay those few euros in cash. AND when we were back, we actually noticed that a small shop almost next to the hotel advertised that they had a cash machine inside. Ha ha. In the end we felt like they just want to make it easy for themselves, not for you...

So I'd say if you get a good deal, go for it, but expect more like 3-star service than 4!

We spent two nights/three days in Rome at this hotel and loved it! The location, very close to the Vatican, could not be better. Our room had a view of the Tiber River and the city. Our room was beautiful! Clean, nicely appointed, and cozy. Actually everything about this hotel was wonderful! The staff was extremely helpful in giving us guidance and directions as we wandered out to explore. I wish I could remember names but everyone was terrific. We were treated like family but still guests! Breakfast was delicious too. Don't know if we will return to Rome but if we ever do, we will definately stay here again!

The hotel has just been renovated which may explain how we were able to book it so shortly before easter. A lovely room with view across the tiber. Spotlessly clean. Friendly, helpful staff. A few minutes walk from the Vatican or across the river to the heart of the city. Altogether a great find!
