“Surprisingly Good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 December 2013

I'm a regular Accor client. Usually when travelling budget I settle for the Ibis/Mercure hotels and, as such, I do have a decent standard for budget hotels.

That being said, this was indeed a very good choice.

Make no mistake, it is a one star budget hotel.

But, for the budget, it is actually very good. The locaiton is Prime. Its rightly behind the Pantheon, the room was very clean, decently spacious for a single room and the staff is incredibly attentious. I got a full explanation on how to get around, the places to go and where to eat (some of the indications where actually hidden gems in town!). I was queried all the time on whether everything was fine and if I needed anything.

Unlike some of the other reviews, I did get a fully working aircon, that was also used for heating

On the cons side, the entrance can be scary once you first get into (its an unmarked door), the breakfast was unimpressive (but it was free, and there is a cafe right in front shall you want something more fulfilling) and the showers while having decent pressure can be though to control the temperature.

Overall its a great place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone on a budget

Our room was clean, the location was perfect for walking all over Rome, and best of all the staff were exceptionally helpful, cheerful and knowledgable. We were not expecting luxury but were amazed by the staff! Thank you for a wonderful week. Ciao, Mike and Carole

Coming from Greece I was sad to find that all hotels and b&b's in Rome are so expensive except this. The price and qaility ration is very good, especially if you think of how central this location is. You are basically in the middle of Rome, close to everything. It is just a few steps from the Pantheon and the other main attractions. I want to thank Giuseppe for being so kind and helpfull with me and my boyfriend. I reccomend the Mimosa to everyone that like me has a mid-low budget and want's to stay in the center of Rome.

The hotel is small, but nice and tidy. The staff was very friendly and helpful, you feel like staying with a warm family. Everything you want to visit is at your hand. We'll surely stay here in future.

Ok it is a perfect location. Just a few minutes of walk from Pantheon but I can't say that this hotel matched my expectations in any way.

The hotel is the 2nd floor of an old (literally) apartment. The rooms are extremelly small and there is no moderate luxury such as secure box or tv.

What is worse about the room was the bathroom. It is so small that it would be impossible for an oversized person to move freely. Moreover it just stinks! You can stand staying there for long.

The room is not clean and it is obvious that they don't change the bed sheet quite often. I've seen remains of semen (of the previous guest I guess) on the bed sheet!!!

The only things good about the hotel was the free wi-fi and the friendly staff, but nothing more. Do not ever mention about the breakfast. It was the worst I had all my life.

To summarize, if it was an hostel with a €30 rate per night, it might be ok but with this price: just stay away from it!

Dear Travelers, I turn to you and not the author of the review because it is the
attempt of a person who has never stayed in our hotel to harm us for personal reasons.
We have already instructed our attorney to enforce our reasons before the relevant courts.
Since April of this year the Hotel Mimosa has changed ownership and we are working very hard to improve the quantity and quality of services offered. The reviews of our guests from the month of April are rewarding our efforts. So please do not take into account what is written by this fake reviewer.

Hotel Mimosa
Chose because of price and proximity to Pantheon n lots of other attractions. Nervous when arrived - only a small placard on the wall of a side street cabbie located only by address. Look closely. Luckily the main doors were open to get access to the upstairs reception desk. There was a lift, much needed following a 10 day cruise worth of luggage. Don't expect too much - basic small room (#11) but clean with a large tile shower. Was a very quiet room. No TV, hair dryer, fridge or access to much ice (can borrow hair dryer at desk). Breakfast was okay with coffee, tea, juices, cereal and sweet croissants, bread, dried toast packets and prepackaged soft cheese. You need a european outlet adaptor - luckily we had one or couldn't have charged up our devices. They do offer a transfer to the airport for €45 - one car for 2 plus luggage. Reliable. Plan on an extra 2 euros per person per night. 3 nights cost 550 euros, cheap compared to other hotels we researched.

Room Tip: Ask for room not next to street-quieter!
