“Beautiful surprise”
Reviewed 23 July 2014 via mobile

We visited this church as it was near to our apartment. Stunning art! And what a surprise to find Catherine of Siena is entombed at the front of the church. The more we stayed the more we found. One memorial made out of marble looked like cloth from a distance. The art work, just incredible. Would have given five stars except for the angry man screaming at women who had straps instead of sleeves. This hypocrisy in so many of the churches in Florence and Rome is unbearable. People walking around with very offensive messages on their shirts but a nicely dressed woman with a sleeveless dress is abused. This should be stopped. Takes away from the beauty and peace of these holy places.

“beautiful resting place for two greats”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

I went to this church with a clear purpose of paying homage to two great minds: one being St. Catherine of Sienna who rests here by the main altar (her head or heart is in Sienna). She is one of very few Catholic women saints who was proclaimed The Doctor of The Church. The other is the patron of the artists Beato (Blessed) Fra Angelico known for his marvelous paintings/frescos. There is also a statue by Michelangelo of Christ carrying the cross by the altar. Wonderful overall. Very close to 3 other great churches: Gesu, St. Loyola and Pentheon.

“Peaceful, beautiful, not-so-hidden gem”
Reviewed 10 July 2014 via mobile

Not far from the Pantheon, definitely worth a stop. Free admission, but there was a guy asking for donations at the door. Gladly gave him some change on the way out, since the place was calm, beautiful, and contained very beautiful paintings, statues, and ceilings.

“Worth visiting”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

All churches in Rome are beautiful and all have some interesting history. Some more and some less. Even this was fantastic and worth visiting if interested in history and art as well as architecture. Just those beggers...annoying. In front of this church there was a screaming and very aggressive one...
