We're from New York and have been eating Chinese food since we could eat solid food. After a week of 100% Italian food we decided that Rome would be a good place to try and find something different, so we went on trusty tripadvisor and looked for a Chinese restaurant in Rome. Unfortunately, all of the "top" rated Chinese restaurants had pretty horrible reviews. Wang Xiang Lou was pretty close to our hotel so we decided we'd take a walk by and see if it was crowded and what it looked like. Much to our surprise, the restaurant was pretty full, and even better, there were several Asians eating there (always a good sign). We decided to give it a try and were glad we did. We ordered several typical "Western" Chinese dishes (some soups, spring rolls, noodles, sweet and sour chicken, bock choy and fried rice), all of which were pretty good. The portions aren't huge, but for the price that's not surprising. All in all, while not the most amazing Chinese food we've ever had, the food was very good for what it was and I would recommend Wang Xiang Lou for anyone looking for something a little different.
