While in Rome we ate in this restaurant twice. On our first night the waiter was ok, a couple of mistakes but corrected quickly! The food was really enjoyable however and reasonably priced! Inside the decor is really something however we liked it and there was a lot of character. We decided to give it another go however feel this was a bit of a poor choice on out part. The service was awful. In particular one waitress who was like a stroppy teenager. A drink was nearly spilled over someone at our table and there was no apology for this. We were also short changed despite seeing the bill and told she was struggling for change - a tip then? Overall I would say good food, reasonable price however would I recommend it? Probably not when there are so many other restaurants on offer all right next door to each other.

One of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. We were searching for a specific place to eat but couldn't find it so we just gave up and thought we'd go here. What a mistake!!!!!!

Service was awful, food poor, atmosphere really weird. The decor is so tacky I felt I was in the middle of a 70's disco. Mucked up our orders and the quality of the food was poor. The waiters didnt have a clue what they were doing.Go anywhere but here.

We stumbled across LA Base when walking near to The Colliseum. I was looking for a suitable restaurant for a 20th anniversary meal. I wasn't sure at first from the outside as it looked a bit American with its decor, but was pleasantly surprised. The service was good and staff friendly, and a three course meal for two with wine came in at about 50 Euros, very reasonable. I noted that a lot of the customers were Italian and as this restaurant is a bit off the main route this can only be a good indication that it is popular with the locals. Recommended and I would definitely eat there again if I go back to Rome.

The food at La Base was affordable an extremely tasty, making it a welcome change to the tourist traps closer to the Colosseum and Piazza SM Maggiore. The service was decent, though once the servers recognized us on our second visit things vastly improved. The pizzas and gnocchi were tasty and the wine was cheap and plentiful. The decor was a welcome change from the red white green tomato pasta fresco business consuming so many places. A relaxed place for drinks as well.

Thank interpolation
