“Closed for renovations in early April'13”
Reviewed 21 April 2013

The Curia is one of the few buildings of the Roman Forum that have been preserved over the centuries, but when we visited Rome it was being renovated and we could not enter the building. Too bad, because it is a key spot during the visit to the Forum. We could not find info about when the works are expected to finish and when the building will reopen again.

“Worth a few minutes”
Reviewed 17 August 2012

In the middle of the Roman Forum, the Senate house is good to duck out of the hot Italian sun and also grab a few pictures of the exhibition housed inside.

“The Curia is the Highlight of the Forum”
Reviewed 6 August 2012

The highlight of the Forum were the arches and also the Curia—former home of the Senate. You can actually enter the Curia and see the elevated blocks where the senators would sit. It is very dark inside to help preserve the interior. Inside, you’ll find some fantastic mosaic tiled floors and some carvings and wall mosaics. Very nice! It gets stuffy in there, however—very bad air flow.
