An outstandingly beautiful and ancient church near the great Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. Worth visisting for the mosaics alone.

“Old with a lot character”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2014

This was one of the older churches we visited and I loved the character of the place. There was something very authentic about it. I liked the mosaics, too. Not at the top of the list, but if you visit Santa Maria Maggiore ( which you should ), stop here, too. At least for 10 minutes.

“Beautiful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2014

This is a beautiful little church on a side street that is worth the visit. It has a segment of the supposed pillar upon which Jesus was flogged. There is also a fresco from the 8th century. I liked it because it wasn't crowded and was a little bit of peace in the busyness of Rome.
