“Good find!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 March 2014

We stayed here in May 2013, and really enjoyed our stay. We took a bus from the airport to Termini, and then another bus to the hotel, and then got lost walking around with our luggage. By the time we oriented ourselves and found it we were very hot and tired. It's a little tucked away - I recommend getting very clear directions before you go. The owner saw how tired and sweaty we were and brought us water and was very welcoming. We stayed in the red room, the decor was very bright and a little cheesy, but the room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. We had a partial view from the balcony of St. Peters (i'll attach a picture). We found a supermarket nearby and ate on our balcony one evening and really enjoyed having that private outdoor space. The breakfast was good - the cappuccinos were delicious! It was enough food for me but not for my husband. He has a big appetite and would get breakfast sandwiches from different cafes (depending on where we went that day) in addition to the breakfast in the room. But it was very nice to have it delivered to our bed every morning! :) The hotel is also only about a 5 minute walk to the Vatican, and there is a bus stop nearby that takes you close to the Colosseum very cheaply. The owner was always very helpful if you asked her any questions. This hotel had GREAT value for money! Our only complaint was the shower - it was up on a ledge at the end of the bathroom, and the door did not seal all the way. Every time we showered the entire floor of the bathroom became covered in water. We had to lay down lots of towels to soak it up so we didn't track water all over our room. The shower was also very small. It was only a minor inconvenience though. We would definitely return!

Spent three nights in Roma Dreaming last week. Generally very good. Lots of pros and a few cons:

Pros
Location - 10 minutes walk to Vatican and about 35 minutes to the centre of Rome. In a quiet residential area.
Security - Have to be buzzed in at the gate and swipe through two doors to get to your room so felt very secure.
Reception staff were all very friendly and helpful, lots and lots of information.
Free wifi.
Very clean.
Large room with television that can be programmed to English.
Comfortable bed.
Full kitchen available - shared between two rooms.
Fridge/minibar in room.
Continental breakfast delivered to your room.

Cons:
The shower - two temperatures: scalding hot or freezing, had to stand to the side for a while to regulate the temperature which did settle after about 5 minutes.
We couldn't get our safe to open to use it, we followed the directions. I'm sure if we'd asked Reception they would've helped but we didn't bother.
We were in Rome for new years eve so obviously wanted a little extra sleep on New Year's Day morning, so after finishing breakfast and putting the tray out for collection we put the 'do not disturb' sign on the door for this reason however we still got housekeeping staff knocking twice and at one point even came into the room with us in bed asking to service the room!! I was not happy - what is the point in a 'do not disturb' sign? However, on check out we got an apology for the misunderstanding which was fine.
Small thing - tap on the bathroom sink was loose.
when we checked in there were no towels in the room, I had to go down and ask for them as they had forgotten them when servicing the room.

Overall we were very happy - location was great, reception staff friendly and cleanliness top notch.
I would recommend.

Stayed for three nights in late November 2013. The red apartment was very nice. We enjoyed our stay. The staff was very attentive and the apartments were always cleaned and well maintained. Very close to Vatican and the train station. Highly recommend this property. The price was very fair. Great place

We stayed at Roma Dreaming this summer (2013) for 2 nights. When we arrived off the train (very close) , the manager Alessia was more than accommodating - checking us in right away and helping us map out our day/tours in Rome. The room itself was lovely, and the bed was very comfortable. The little breakfast was perfect to start the day, and the balcony was lovely. Before we left Rome, Alessia let us keep our bags in the lobby area (after we had checked out), while were still touring the city. I would love to stay here again, it was such an amazing experience.

We stayed in Rome overnight at. Roma Dreaming. We were given instructions of the best way to get there by one of the staff. All staff we met and had dealings with were of a 6+ star standard!
We took the regional train from Fiumicino to Roma Trastevere where we changed for a train to Citavecchia and got off at Roma San Pietro Stazione. This was easy as the train cost €8 each and we were not in a hurry, but it only took 30 mins anyway. The next morning, we did the reverse and even though the train was more crowded, everyone assisted each other with luggage etc. Between 8 and 10 might be more difficult though.
We walked to Roma Dreaming which was okay, but we had a large suitcase and a small one each. It was perfectly manageable though. The rooms were gorgeous and there was also a shared kitchen which was a great idea if you were staying more than 1 night.
As I said the staff were top notch and one of them organised a tray with breakfast in our room as we were going to be up early and miss the usual breakfast time.
It was very close to The Vatican and we walked there from Roma Dreaming. Via Gregorio VII was very close, with frequent buses also. Shops and cafés were very close as well.
The bed was comfortable, the rooms were decorated beautifully, the showers were deliciously hot and the toiletries were in exquisite taste. All information and Roma Dreaming maps were provided and very helpful and the staff were also willing to assist us in planning what we could see in the time available.
We are going back in December and we are so happy we booked ahead to return there!

Room Tip: I would say that all rooms were of an equally standard, but there are rooms that have a view of the...

We stayed at Roma Dreaming between the 22nd and 25th Oct and our experience with Roma Dreaming was flawless.

The manager Alessia contacted me in advance of my arrival to confirm my booking, and having contacted her before my arrival to query train directions, I was given a warm, helpful response with clear directions and the offer of further assistance. This was great as not many hotels let alone B&B's offer this much help.

When we arrived we were met by Alessia at Reception who again was most welcoming and warm, and gave us a full overview of the hotel facilities, info on the local area, and options available for different tours. Alessia was the perfect host and made us really feel at home. We also met some of the girls who work reception in the evenings or Alessias day off and they make up a fantastic team as they were all friendly and as welcoming as Alessia.

The hotel/B&B is a short 5min walk from Roma San Pietro station and if flying in from Fiumcino Airport should only cost you 8 Euros each with a single train ticket. (FL1 Train from Fiumicino Airport to Trastevere, change to the FL5 train heading to Civitavechia which is only 1 stop to Roma San Pietro) You can get a train map and your tickets from the station but make sure its from Trenitalia the train operator as there are other kiosks that charge a commission to buy tickets from them.

Our room was amazing and we were allocated the Ecru room on the 3rd Floor. We had Sky TV which you can change to English, a large balcony stretching round the room offering views over St Peters Basilca. The bathroom was clean with good facilites and nice additions such as a whirlpool bath and bidet. The bed was very very comfy and the room was equipped with a minibar and safe. Each floor at Roma Dreaming seems to have at least 2 rooms which have a fully equipped communal kitchen which is useful and also great as it really feels like you have your own apartment/flat. Additionally the floor and the hotel itself was nice and quiet and away from touristy hotels.

Overall we had a fantastic stay. We were a short 10 min walk to St Peters square and the Vatican and if your happy to walk as we were, you can get to all the main sites on foot from there if your happy to walk (leisurely) for up 45mins to an hour. Given Roma Dreaming is not classified as hotel and list themselves as a B&B they are certainly punching above there wait to what I would say is a no less than a 3* Boutique hotel with 4* service. Simply put, you will not find a better value place to stay in Rome for this quality and location.

If I ever visit Rome again (I did not throw a coin into the Trevi, but still hope to return), I know where to stay. It will be in Roma Dreaming located very close to Roma San Pietro Station and within a relaxing walk to the Vatican. The historic center of Rome is a short bus ride away. Bus 64 starts just outside the San Pietro Station which will take you to the centro storico area and all the way to Termini. Most of the attractions are located around the Centro Storico and Ancient Rome areas which are accessible by No.64. Just be careful about the pickpocketers while the bus is crowded.

The manager, Alicia is a real gem. Friendly, smiling and always helpful, you will be hard pressed to find a better manager of a hotel. Simply put, Roma Dreaming is a dream place to be.
The Room (Fiori Scarletto) was absolutely fantastic with a private kitchen which opens out onto the spectacular terrace with views of the St. Peter's Basilica. The bed was very comfortable as well. TV with SKY dish can be set-up in English language. The Balcony has great views of the basilica and the uphill running Via Di Monte Del Gallo. There is a safety box in which you could keep your important documents. Wardrobe was good. Bathroom was great too with bath-tub and hot water. You have to be patient for the water to heat-up.

And the breakfast was great which is delivered to your room at the time you prefer. Capuccino, Apple Pie or Croissants, Buns, Youghurt, Orange Juice, Jam, Butter and Honey.

The restaurant which is recommended by the hotel (Osteria dei Pontifici) is very good too.

Overall, 5 out of 5 stars for this jem of a hotel.

If you read this review, take my advice and go for it. You will not repent your decision.

Room Tip: Try booking the scarlett Room.
