arrived in Rome for the Easter 2012 to spend 4 night in Milani hotel. My first impression was really good: hotel located centrally, very close to Roma Termini train station ( 5 minut walk), and very well connected with other part of the city as there were many bus stop nearby.Just accross the road 'Conad' supermarket if anyone would like to do some shopping, also many places to eat in a vicinity .Staff at the reception polite and very acomodating: as I suffer from claustrofobia and my room was on the 4 th floor I ve asked for a member of staff to accompany me in a lift , the request which was gladly received by the reception staff, no problems or questions whatsoever .I would like to mention a wonderful, very helpful and always smiling lady working at the reception who during my short stay gave me a lot of advice and tips on where to dine well. The room I stayed in wasnt big but just average in size with a balcony , bathroom small but clean with fresh towels ,a soap and a bathing cap ,the hotel gives also a comfortable pair of slippers .The room was cleaned daily. There was fully functional safe-box in a wardrobe.Air conditioning individually regulated however I could increase or decrease the temperature no more than 2-3 degrees up or down. The room opens with a card and only the hotel staff have an access to the room ( cleaning lady once opened when I was still in bed!). Additional bonus: there is an internal telefone line inside the room to call reception one would need it , and an emergency bell in the shower.I cannot comment on food and breakfast, as I have not eaten in the hotel.Breakfast is served in the morning but there is a lounge-bar room with tv ( apart from tv in my room)) with a possibility to have a hot drink anytime of the day.Overall I was very happy with the service and the hotel amenities and would recommend it to other travellers visiting Rome.

Perfect base : good location (couple mins walk from Termini station), quiet (ask for a room at the back of the hotel), reasonable (€99 per night B&B in June), extensive & good quality breakfast (certainly by Italian standards), with individually locked up luggage facilities and internet.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel. Also we travelled as a male & a female - I explained t...

Having not been to Rome before, finding the hotel from the Termini was so easy and very close. I would suggest anyone staying at the Milani to get the bus from the airport (can be booked online through Terravision) as it stops at the right side of the Termini and you literally just walk up the side street opposite and your there. Milani quite central and not too far to walk to any of the attractions 30-40mins to Roman Forum etc, or the bus & tube are easily accessed. Milani Hotel was nice without it being fantastic. We had a room at the back and while the view wasn't that good your only in there to sleep. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice as long as your not down too late. Room a decent size but book the superior room and not the basic. For the price the Milani is good value, staff very nice despite my wife not noticing the large towels and requesting more. The Porter was not too pleased but sorted out in the end. Rome is fantastic for the sights and seeing is believing with all the Roman ruins, Trevi Fountain beautiful, Vatican, Sistine Chapel, Pantheon, Colessio etc all fantastic. The only disappointment was the food, found it hard to find decent food and can be expensive. Overall a great 3 days in Rome and would stay at the Milani again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Book the superior room otherwise you will just get the basic ones which are not as nice.

we arrived on Friday 2nd of March at Termini station. Our hotel was a 5 minutes walk from the station in a quiet street, a splendid location to start visiting a city like Rome, by foot or by public transport (metro, buses). The hotel was very clean, we had a renovated room (a room for three adults), no carpet on the floor, but tiles, which we appreciated very much. Staff was very friendly and helpfull, advising us with good addresses for diner. Breakfast was OK.

Great central location for transport links but room bare and bland (couldn't bear to spend time in it, luckily weather was good so didn't have to!). Tiled concrete floors meant that every sound and scrape above and below was clearly heard, starting 6am or earlier. Bizarrely, the tv was located about 8 feet off the floor and CNN the only English speaking channel. Reception staff generally disinterested (but porter and cleaner more friendly). Breakfast tinned fruit, solid scrambled egg but good in parts, e.g. Fresh rolls and croissants. Not great.

We travelled in April and the weather was unusually warm so the air conditioning was not on this made our room unbearable to sleep in. Staff were friendly enough but could not do anything to resolve the temperature in our room. The room was clean but basic. Breakfast was good. The location was ideal for exploring Rome and only one block from termini.

Just back from 4 day break in Rome - stayed in the Hotel Milani located in the Via Magenta 2 minutes from the Train station. The hotel was spotlessly clean and our room (Room 210) was really nice - recently refurbished very comfortable with a nice modern bathroom
The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. We were able to use the internet ( 1e for half an hour) to book a tour of the Sistine Chapel The breakfast was very nice - selection of cereals fruit jams yougurts breads ham cheese etc They also had hot food -scrambled eggs and bacon - which was Ok
Our homeward flight was late evening and although we vactaed our room we had full use of the hotel facilities - they kept our baggage for us and organised a taxi to the airport for us - 50e for 4 people much cheaper than the train We eat out in the Bar Rossi in the next street every night- the food was really good and our waiter Andre was brilliant
We did an open top bus tour with Rome City Sightseeing which was very enjoyable and informative

Room Tip: The modernised rooms are superb and may be a little more expensive but are well worth the money
