A modern, beautifully furnished and delightfully quiet hotel, very near the Coliseum. They go out of their way to give you the best and they gave us a suite with a balcony, although we'd only booked a standard room. Roof terrace with great views and delightful breakfasts.

I stayed here for four nights. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming and I was genuinely sad to leave. Breakfast is an excellent varied buffet served in a lovely light room with views over the city and the Colosseum. My room was very well equipped, complete with fluffy towels and bathrobes and comfy slippers! Even the bath was nice and big compared to many hotels I've stayed in. If I return to Rome I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. It's a shame they don't serve evening meals, but there are many good restaurants near by and reception will recommend just the right one.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights and were very happy with it. The room was of a very good standard, well fitted out with space, very comfortable beds (mattresses not too hard!) and a good bathroom. The breakfast was good and it would be wonderful to eat it out on the terrace in summer. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, always willing to help out with inquiries.
It is in an excellent location, just 5 minutes from the Colosseum yet in a quiet location; you could have a window open overnight and have very little disturbance.
There are good eating places locally; they range from more expensive places to several cheaper options. We used the latter and would recommend the bar/cafe San Clemente, 2 minutes from the hotel, always quiet yet serving the best food of the 3 cheaper options.

Hidden Gem

Finding a reasonably price hotel room with a good location, nice rooms and friendly staff in Rome wasn’t easy but Hotel Capo d’ Africa fit the bill perfectly. Located in a quite street just a couple of blocks from the Colosseum made it a great location without all the hustle and bustle of Rome. The room was spacious, clean and quite – even with a room looking out on the street. The staff was very helpful and breakfast was good with a lot of choices and a very nice view of the city. The walk to other attractions in the city was an easy 10 – 20 minutes depending upon your destination. For all of this the price was very good compared to other options in Rome. I would highly recommend it and will look to stay there again on my next visit. The only thing that maybe an issue for someone is that there was not a full service restaurant in the hotel but there was plenty of things to choice from within the block so it wasn't a problem for us.

chose this hotel because of the excellent reviews in Tripadvisor. Stayed for three nights and wasn't disappointed. Highlights are that the team are very friendly, polite and helpful. It is immaculately clean. Great beds! Very little internal or external noise.
Breakfast buffet is a real treat; served between 6:30am- 11:00am in a lovely bright room with an open veranda on the top level.
Only down side is that they do a very heavy sell on the day trips at check in. All run by the same Tour company. We found these to be of a very varied level of value and efficiency and the evening restaurants that we were recommended also seemed to be geared to their contacts rather than the best (of which there are many) in the vicinity.
No hot drinks available in rooms. No iron or iron board. Old style television.
But with only a brisk two minutes walk to the Colosseum and Roman forum what's not to like. Great place to stay!

Stayed here twice. Perfect location, close to Colliseum and a stop for the hop on - hop off bus. Lots of shops nearby.
The breakfast room on the top floor offers beautiful views of the city morning and night. The wonderful and charming staff will make reservations for you in the neighborhood eateries.

The second time we stayed here, our luggage was lost and the staff went above and beyond working with the airlines to help straighten things out for us.

The small bar/ restaurant always seems to whip up something delightful for us when we arrive late or just want a little something.

Staying at Capo is one of the delights of Rome for us. The rooms are a good size, very quiet, and there is a fitness center.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room away from elevators. The rooms all have double pane windows to keep Rome stree...
