We stayed here for our honeymoon and we not disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar had happy hour from 6 to 10 every night with free food. The breakfast was great. We would stay here again for sure.

The River Palace Hotel is perfectly situated near to the Piazza del Poppolo in Rome and a great base for couples exploring the city. The rooms are decadent and superbly clean with lovely bathrooms. There is an excellent array of breakfast treats each morning. Each night the staff take the time to turn down the bed covers, leave chocolates on the pillows and a little card explaining what the weather is expected to be like on the next day. The bar is lovely too and a great place to relax after a day's exploring or somewhere to plan your activities.

We visited in December and whilst the weather was cold, we didn't have to queue for any attractions and enjoyed the festivities in the run up to the Christmas period.

The city is absolutely beautiful with ancient Rome on almost every corner. We walked everywhere from the hotel during our trip and easily reached the sights (Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon) by foot. We took the Metro to reach the Vatican but we visited on our last day and didn't want to risk being late to the airport.

The reception team were fantastic, gave us good maps and even helped us to book a trip to fascinating Pompeii during our stay which was well worth the money and extra travel - a must for anyone interested in architecture and ancient ruins.

If you're looking for a romantic yet affordable hotel to use as a base whilst in Rome then choose the River Palace - you won't be disappointed.

Just got back from a 4 day break with my sisters, we had a fab time the hotel is very clean staff friendly and the cocktail bar is as good as it gets, we felt very safe here. the breakfast is great to get you through the day. The hotel was in the right spot to wonder around the people's square and the Spanish steps, the metro was just at the end of our street this was very handy as there's lots of walking to do,

Room Tip: Rooms are small but cosy just what you would expect for a very old but well kept building

Great location, excellent service, wonderful breakfast - we just loved this hotel and would recommend it tour friends. this has been the only hotel that suggested restaurants that were truly magnificent. Our travel agent in Australia recommended this hotel, and we can't thank the enough.

We stayed at the River Palace for four days following a transatlantic cruise. We were offered an upgrade to a larger room which we accepted given the amount of luggage we had. Room was clean, bed comfortable, bathroom well appointed. Location was ideal, enabling us to walk to many attractions. Metro located nearby. Breakfast was more than ample. Staff was helpful and courteous without exception. We will return to this hotel when visiting Rome.

Room Tip: choose something larger than the standard room

Stayed at the River Palace Hotel in Rome
Fiestly, our baggage was delayed by 1.5 hrs and the taxi driver - whose name I forget very kindly waited & didnt charge us any extra!! We booked him through the hotel & I would recommend that anyone does the same

Rooms are very small; but clean with a turn down service each night

Breakfasts are excellent as is the bar - happy hour from 6pm to 10pm with half price drinsk & nibbles - well worth going down for!!

Reception was helpful booking restaurnats etc - would stay again

Can walk to most major attrctions, save for the Vatican which is a good 40 mins stroll
