Me and my partner stayed at the river palace hotel for five days at the beginning of March. On arrival the hotel recpetion is clean and spacious. We had an early flight so our room wasnt ready till two so we walked around until about half one then went back to the hotel. We had a deluxe double room on the 7th floor. The rooms arent massive but spacious enough for what we paid!! The rooms were cleaned every day, and every evening they had a turn down survice and chocolates and a weather forecast was left on the bed every day. The hote is situated literally outside piazza del popolo which is a great location. The spanish steps and trevi fountain are 10-15 mins walk away. There is a metro station 30 seconds away from the hote lwhich we used to get to the Vatican and Collesuem. Breakfast was nice, a selection of meats and cheeses, including bacon sausage egg much, there is also a continetal breakfast. The bar in the hotel is also great with the happy hour from 6 til 10 every evening. All in all a great hotel in a great location.

The service at this hotel was great, and the breakfast was more than wonderful. We enjoyed being so close to Piazza de Popolo and all the restaurants and shops located near it and also the Metro stop. You will think this is a great location if you don't mind taking the Metro, and we certainly took advantage of the Metro whenever possible. The hotel is beautiful on the inside and the staff was always helpful and friendly. I highly recommend it!

We were back at the River Palace Hotel this past weekend (first time around was in 2010). The hotel is still well-appointed, breakfast (the cappuccinos!) is superb, the rooms are quiet and -all things considered- the location is convenient (providing you don't mind a 30 minutes walk/stroll to get to the Pantheon/Piazza Navona or to the Forum areas). Besides, the front desk staff was really helpful in making reservations to the Galleria Borghese or in booking taxis from/to the airport...
The only things keeping me from a 5 star rating are : the rooms are definitely small (but how much time will you spend in your room on a visit to Rome?), service at breakfast was distant, almost ill-disposed at times (but things got better again on day 3) and no complimentary water in the rooms.
All in all, a very good hotel. Should try a little bit harder....

Room Tip: Rooms are quiet. We stayed on the 3rd floor, our room overlooking the street in front of the hotel...

Loved this Hotel and Staff, close to everything you want to see and within walking distance to all if you are fit. We walked to the Coliseum and back in the same day and saw everything there was to see on the way, such as the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. We did not have enough time in Rome and would love to go back again. The hotel was clean and beautiful with a nice buffet breakfast. The windows opened in the rooms and the only small thing was the very small showers, if you are large you may have an issue closing the doors, other than that I loved this Hotel!

Room Tip: I am sure any room in this Hotel would be great, we were lucky enough to get a free upgrade which wa...

The service in this hotel makes up for the location and the size of the rooms. Even though we paid for a superior room, it was still very small. Also the hotel was located a bit too far north of the city, so it was not as conveniently located as we thought. However the breakfast was superb and the reception, concierge and bar staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed at this hotel for seven nights in February 2014. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable. Despite its location on the side of a busy street the hotel's rooms were quiet. Good insulation on the walls. This hotel deserves its rating as one of the best in Rome . Recommended.
