Our stay at River Palace could not have been better .
When we checked in we were very lucky enough to have been upgraded to a junior suite which was beautiful .
We took advantage of the happy hour each evening which offers half price drinks and cocktails . (It actually runs from 6 till 10 every night ) We found this a great way to start the evening before going out on the town . Our bar men Luca and Harold were very friendly and polite and thank you Harold for introducing me to Falengina . I love this wine !
The hotel is walking distance to restaurants and the main shopping distance and some of the tourist attractions but I would suggest getting the hop on hop off bus if you don't know the city layout that well as it is a great way to get your bearings .
Breakfast was provided in our room charge and this was delicious and a great way to start the day . You could even have bubbly if you wanted ..we were on holiday after all !The wait staff were very polite and would make a cappuccino for you if you asked .
We loved our stay at River Palace hotel and would definitely return .

Stayed here for our 25th anniversary and had an amazing time. Our room was a good size, the hotel is right by Piazza de Popolo which is great for people watching. We walked to the Vatican in about 20 mins and 30 mins to the Colosseum in the evening. Got metro to Colosseum during the day but it is only €1.50.
The staff at the hotel are lovely, especially Andrea, he made us very welcome.
If I go back to Rome, I would stay here again, couldn't fault it

This boutique hotel is perfectly located in the quieter part of the city but within walking distance of many attractions.
There are plenty cheaper restaurants around the hotel if you want to avoid paying over the top in the tourist trap areas. The nearest metro stop is just at the bottom of the road if you exit the hotel and turn right. This is also towards the entrance of the Piazza Del Popolo.

The hotel's bar is also very reasonable, especially happy hour prices (6 Euros for a cocktail) and breakfast was really good. Fabulous choice of fresh fruit, pastries, cheeses as well as eggs and bacon. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is looking a little dated and the rooms could do with a little TLC, but overall, the room was fine for what we needed. If you are staying for more than a few days you may find space a little limited.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for a short city break and would most certainly stay there again if I get the chance to return to Rome.

Room Tip: We stayed in a deluxe twin and found that wardrobe space was limited but workable. I don't thin...

My husband and I found this hotel to have an excellent location being a two minute stroll away from Piazza del Popolo. Upon arriving we were immediately upgraded to a delux suite following a rather unfortunate pick pocketing incident at the main train station in Rome which we received as a more warm welcome to the city! The room was very clean and comfortable. Happy hour between 6 and 10pm was very reasonable with many complimentary snacks offered at the bar also. Breakfast very fresh and a large selection to suit any taste including a glass if prosecco if required! Wifi good - the hotel can also print anything you need free of charge. This hotel also offers taxi transfer to FCO airport for 55 Euros.

A clever travel agent booked this hotel for us as part of a 30th anniversary trip. The hotel is very close to the Piazza del Popolo. It is right near the metro station, but we walked everywhere. We had the suite on the 8th floor. It included a beautiful terrace overlooking the city of Rome, a large marble bath with jacuzzi, a small sitting room and a bedroom with a very comfortable king sized bed. The breakfast was hot and fresh. While it was not an exciting breakfast, it is included and it hit the spot. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The wifi worked well enough. I did not try to upload pictures or anything that would need a lot of bandwidth, so I can't say how that was. It was more than enough to check emails, etc. And it is air conditioned! I would love to stay here again.

Located about 3 minutes away from getting into the centre of Rome, 7 minutes from Spanish Steps, 20 from Trevi Fountain and 35 from Colosseum.

Excellent hotel, friendly and helpful staff, especially at the bar.

Wifi works well, not that we used it much.

Happy hour (half price) between 6 & 10 is very good value compared to the bars and restaurants around.

Decor is very authentic and Italian as you would imagine, but combined with the cleanliness and level of service you'd expect from a mainstream hotel chain.

Would happily stay there again. Bear in mind that the classic rooms are small by European and definitely US standards, but that is to be expected across Rome. Recommend you get an upgraded room if you prefer a little more space. However, as Rome is about the sights, doubt you'll be in there too much!
