“Friendly, well-located, and wonderful two stars”
Reviewed 11 February 2014

I was in the hotel with my family (three people) for four nights, it was very well-located and close to metro station (Termini and also Republica). The facilities were really comfortable and excellent for a two stars hotel. The breakfast was also good, and the staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. The room was also convenient, the building was so old though. I lost firstly to find the hotel, and then in the building I couldn't see any sign and I used the elevator wrongly. Maybe having a sign in the building helps people to find. The internet connection was also poor in the room, as we were charged 2€ per day for the internet. All in all, I strongly recommend this hotel to stay.

Me and my nana stayed here for three nights in January 2014. We had a fantastic time, it's a lovely family run hotel, Jean looked after us so well. The rooms are brilliant, just what you need and in a lovely location only a 10 minute walk from Termini and a nice stroll down to The Coliseum and The Forum. We will definitely be back! Convenient for Termini Station and for main sites - Forum in 20 mins walk. We were made very welcome by delightful English speaking staff led by Jean and Luigi. Very comfortable room with tea making and great en suite. Lots of help given on sites and eating out. Cafe underneath and local Trattoria Antica excellent. Respond quickly to any requests and to emails. Great value for centre of a capital city.

Very good location - 10 min easy walk from Roma Termini, but on the safe and quiet side street. A proper building with amazing elevator - we took it every time we came back to the hotel. Daily cleaning, good room and shower cubicle. Up to me - deserving breakfast. Good coffee - free at the midday by the courtesy of the staff. If you are sporty enough you can do all Rome by foot from this hotel - 15 min to Coloseo, 20 min - to P. Venezia, 25 min - to Trevi, etc. If you are not - take bus or subway from Termini. The bar - next corner, trattoria - second turn, laundry - next block.
The owner - very nice lady - runs the hotel on a good way.

My daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights in January, 2014. This was our first time to Rome. Location was excellent and we walked to many of the tourist things we wanted to see. We did have to take the train to the Vatican but the train stop was close by and was easy to use. Hotel saff was wonderful. Jean and Frederico in particular were so nice and helpful. We hope to come back and would stay here again without a doubt.

We chanced upon Hotel Giuliana as we were looking for a place to spend an additional 2-3 days in Rome. One of the considerations was to look for something cheap as we were holding on to a tight budget (this extension was an unplanned one). So we were prepared for the worst. But what a pleasant surprise when we arrived to the family run hotel. It was like a hidden gem. We were greeted by Jean, a lovely lady who was very welcoming and accommodating. Yes, the place is modest and utalitarian, but hey, they did not advertise otherwise.
We were shown the room and the first thing that hit us was the smell. It was not the lemony-disinfectant kind of smell, but something more refreshing and that was the first thing that came out of our lips..."mmm, smells nice in here". The room and bathroom was clean. No complaint at all in that department.
And let me tell you about the service. I think the guys here wrote the book about rules of hospitality. Each and everyone of them is simply the best! I cannot gush enough about them. They are all very helpful, never without a smile on their faces and so very hard-working. And I still get emails from Jean asking me how I am! Such a sweet lady!
Yes, you will not get more than what a basic hotel room offers but this one definetely is worth much more than what you pay for.
If and when we come back to Rome, we will definetely stay here.

We stayed 4 nights in December 2013 and Hotel Giuliana exceeded our expectations. Jean, Marianna, Tony and the entire staff were very friendly and helpful including making recommendations and reservations, opening breakfast for us early one morning, and being available to ensure our 4:30AM transportation to the airport worked well. The location is very convenient (easy walk to train, subway, major streets with buses, and several attractions) and we ate at a couple good restaurants within a block. We had a nice small corner room that was clean and comfortable, but the mattresses were hard. The price was reasonable and included a good breakfast and a safe in our room. We enjoyed and recommend Hotel Giuliana!

Room Tip: Larger rooms are available. A convenient street market sets up early each morning, so take ear plug...
