“Lovely hotel, friendly staff, good location”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

We stayed in hotel Aurelius for an extended weekend. The staff was very friendly & helpful and the hotel had everything you expect from a boutique hotel. After leaving, we forgot some items, which the hotel mailed back to us, free of charge. While the hotel is not located in the old center of Rome, you can easily get around, using the Cornelia metro stop close by. Having stayed in multiple hotels in Rome, we would recommend this one for a hospitable stay!

Dear Guest,

we know we have to commit day after day to ensure that everyone can have an unforgettable experience in our hotel
And if you decide to leave your thoughts on Tripadvisor about our Hotel Aurelius we have succeeded with you.

We try every day to manage the Aurelius as a large house that hosts many friends. And the friendliness, warmth and openness that we offer are the same that we would offer at our home.

Thank you very much.

My wife and I stay for 4 days and the overall experience was low as expected. Our air condition was broke, even in off start to leak and make noises all night long. Alejandra help us to solve the problem changing rooms, they seems to solve it, but not. The night shift front desk clerk is completely out of manners and courtesy. We complain about this and he was rude and careless. His answer was to pay taxes in cash... Thant was our last night there.
I sincerely ask to Gianfranco to look after this guy. He damage all your efforts to offer a nice place to stay

Dear Juan,
after we met at the check in, and smile sympathetically about having the same name, I thought we created a relationship of trust for which we could speak freely about any complain before you leave the hotel.
This is because every time a guest leaves the hotel without being satisfied, personally, I remain very disappointed.
Alejandra was right to propose the change of room but then I don't know why it has not been carried out.
I know from experience that the last moments of any experience, are the ones that most affect a judgment or a memory. For this reason, therefore, I accept willingly a judgment so negative.
What I'm used to say to all our Guests is that me and my staff put our maximum effort every day ... probably in your case we were not skilful enough to prove it.
I note, however, the notes left on Tripadvisor regarding your stay in our Hotel Aurelius and even bitterly I thank you and I hope to have a new chance to meet you in Rome

Stayed at the hotel for three days, while visiting Rome. This hotel offers very nice clean rooms, a good breakfast included in the price and very helpful staff. The location is outside of the tourist area and only about 400m from the metro stop, which makes it about 15 mins to Vatican and 45 mins to the coliseum. Some of the bad points would be the length of time to get to central Rome and that it's located at a very busy intersection. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel and return again.

Dear Guest,

thank you for sharing on Tripadvisor, your thoughts regarding your stay in our Hotel Aurelius.

It 's true that the hotel is not downtown and this might seem like a problem. But if we think, for example, the goodness of the restaurants in the area but even more so that our rates offered are much more affordable than the hotels in the center of Rome becomes easy to understand why book Hotel Aurelius, your home in Rome

Thank you very much

My girlfriend and I recently traveled throughout Europe and ended our trip in Rome for 4 nights. We decided to stay here based on other tripadvisor reviews and it definitely did not disappoint. The rooms are nice and clean but the staff are what make this property so great. Every person we encountered was beyond friendly, and went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. They were so helpful in terms of places to see, where to eat, etc. The location also isn't bad...about a 10 minute metro ride to the Vatican and 15 minute ride to almost everything else (Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, etc.). Overall we loved staying here and will definitely stay again if we can make it back to Rome!

I returned from Rome on 28th May 2014. Me and my Daughter stayed at this hotel, the hotel was small, lovely and very homely. Our room was fantastic, the staff at the hotel were brilliant they provided us with all the information that we needed to make out stay in Rome easy.
Renita was superb, very helpful and there was nothing that she wouldn't do for us.
We were always greeted with a smile
The breakfast at the hotel was lovely they had hot and cold food available every day.
This hotel is not in the centre of Rome, but it is not far from the centre, we took the Metro everyday which wasn't difficult to do, the Metro station was a 2 min walk from the hotel
The hotel is located in a quiet place although its on a main road, the room we had was at the back of the hotel which was nice and quite.
You have tea & coffee facilities in your room, but you will need to buy milk from the mini markets, there are about 3 near the hotel.
If you get a chance you should use the Sauna and Jacuzzi it is so relaxing after a hard day touring.

There a few restaurants near the hotel which are cheaper than eating in the centre, they are very nice as well. We really liked the restaurant Gustando, we also ate at Ferro Ghas i didn't like the food there.

We visited Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain, St Peters Square, Vatican, The Dome (you have to pay for this) 5 euros if you take the stairs or 7 euros if you take the life and stairs you have to climb 320 stairs, the staircase is very narrow, it was nice to visit the Dome and see all if Rome from there.
We visited the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel, you may want to book your tickets before you get there as the queues are very long. Renita helped me book my tickets on her computer, lovely lady :)
The highlight of our trip was being part of the Pope's audience which takes place every Wednesday morning as long as the Pope is in Rome.
It was the best experience of my life it was well worth being part of this.
We loved Rome and equally loved this Hotel we will definitely go back to Rome again and will definitely stay at the Aurelius hotel again.

We would like to say a big thank you to the staff at the hotel for making our stay in your country worthwhile and very enjoyable.

Room Tip: Our room was amazing we had room no 348

Dear Guest,

We are always very happy when reading the reviews on Tripadvisor, we understand that our guests have enjoyed in our Hotel Aurelius.

We know that every day we have to do our utmost to ensure the competitiveness of our hotel. But we also know that, compared to hotels in the historical center, the competitiveness of the face also using our best rates.

But the aspect that most of us like to emphasize is the typical family side atmosphere that is created between the guests and our staff.

Thank you very much

Firstly, the Aurelius is a little out of town but, the staff more than offset this. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the breakfast is a good start to the day. Our room 340, was excellent with a huge balcony to sit out in the lovely sunshine with a nice glass of cold wine. All the staff are extremely helpful and very friendly and speak really goo English. As has been said before, they give you all the information that you need to get around and offer places to eat in the locality. The staff make it worth the journey into town worth it. They cannot do enough for you, service like it should be!!
We would recommend this hotel to anybody. No doubt there are hotels in town that are more convenient but, for the same quality, would be twice the price!!

Thank you for being so accommodating!

Dear Graeme & Anya
thank you for the contribution you left on Tripadvisor for the stay in our Hotel Aurelius.
As you may have seen our way to work in the hotel is exactly similar to the attitude that we have, at home, when friends come to visit.
We look forward again to Rome.
thank you very much

just left Rome and returned to Belgium. Stayed in the Aurelius Hotel over last weekend. The room was nice and clean. The staffs were earnest and warmhearted. The hotel is convenient for transportation. Because it is located in the local area in Rome, you have the chance to taste the typical Italial food and smell the Italian air. Would like to stay there next time.
