“Far out, but a relaxing atmosphere”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Ergife Palace Hotel offers a relaxing atmosphere to the busy streets of Rome. The rooms are large, modern and clean. Breakfast was one of the better ones I’ve had as compared to other continental breakfasts and offered a wide variety of options, including bacon, eggs, sweet pastries, etc.
The hotel is far from the city centre, and some distance from any metro stations, so a taxi is definitely needed for getting around. The good thing is that the hotel can reserve a taxi for you, and there is a taxi waiting area just outside the hotel.
There are a few restaurants on the main road outside the hotel. Wifi only works in the lobby, but there are comfortable lounges, TVs, a bar and a boutique store in the lobby area which can be a nice change of view if you need to use the free wifi.
If not for the location, this hotel would be the perfect place for a Roman holiday.

We stayed at the Ergife for a conference. The hotel was ideal for this as the conference rooms were huge, ideal for a large crowd of people. The rooms which were not cheap however, were disappointing. Our room was dated, worn, tiles cracked on the balcony with loose pieces lying around. The beds were comfortable but no where to put suitcases out of the way. The staff were very rude on the front desk. I asked to upgrade and was happy to pay more but the hotel was booked out due to the conference. The restaurant food was pretty good. The Hotel is quite a way from the town. Looking at some of the other reviews maybe we just got one of their worst rooms??

Room Tip: Would stay closer to town next time and only stay at Ergife for the nights of the conference. We did...

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group for 2 nights from 22 June. At this time the pool has been closed for renovations, so we didn't get to use it. The main problem with this hotel is that it is on the outskirts away from the main attractions such as the Colosseum, Spanish Steps etc, which would add taxi fares to the budget. Also the free WiFi was only available at the lobby area. The reception area is big but very quiet - not much foot traffic, there was a bar that served coffee and limited food. However if they had served pizzas, fries, savouries and sweets the reception/lobby area would be more lively. Breakfast was very average, not much fruit or selection of cereals. As this was part of the tour I didn't mind too much staying here, however if we were on our own closer we would stay here - would stay closer to the historic places where everything is walking distance and great yet reasonable priced restaurant not to mention great gelato places.

One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was because it was advertised on their website as the only hotel in Rome with a 50m swimming pool. Instead of a pool there was a building site directly below our room. In addition to this, the air conditioning system throughout the hotel had failed, and the weather outside reached 38 ºC (100 fahrenheit) during our stay. This made the room unbearably hot. However, the worst thing was the attitude of the staff when we complained. They were extremely rude and unprofessional and we wasted 2 hours waiting to speak to a manager who in the end never arrived to speak to us. Finally, the location of the hotel is poor, in a run down area of Rome far from the center. Overall a terrible experience. Rome is an amazing city with so much to offer, but do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else when you visit!

Our first night in Europe. Amazing hotel. Beautiful. Loved our suite. I loved the bathroom. I loved the bathtub, the robes, the slippers, the soaps... the separate toilet! We had a fridge too. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows.
We checked in without issue. We were part of a Trafalgar travel group. Because of this we had a bus which took us to all of the main attractions.
We did not have much of a view from our room, looked like there was some construction going on.

Stayed here as part of a tour but came in a day earlier. We had a triple room accommodation. Room was very nice and large and perfect for us. Only a glass door for shower was offered with a wide open bathroom so showering had to be done discreetly. Check-in was fast and courteous. Loved the free WiFi but it was only offered in the lobby. Thankfully there is plenty of seating for people to sit and check their mail. A variety of items offered for breakfast--be sure and try the lemon-filled doughnuts. No tourist sights within walking distance. A taxi ride usually ran about 15 euros one way. A taxi tip: Close your eyes while they are driving--it'll save you from having an upset stomach. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. There is a fantastic pizza place called E Pizza Melle (?) up the street to the right. If you're not worried about paying euros for taxis, I would recommend this hotel.

A pleasant hotel outside of the city. Okay if you're on a tour. There is a mini mart a short walk from the hotel. There are a couple of Italian restaurants as well as a good Chinese restaurant at the top of the street. The latter is quite cheap.
They provide a very good breakfast.
