“It would be much nicer but new carpets”

Accordingly to the average of the 3 stars hotels in Rome, this one is a quite nice a good hotel. With a very strange location, because it is not a too touristic area but very near to down town area, just ten minutes walk from Aurelian walls which surround the oldest city area.

The hall is kept very clean by a bell boy that works even at late evening good a very good will.
Rooms are quite large compared to other roman hotels. Old TV set but working properly with some foreign speaking channel.

A large and and comfortable mattress with four pillows welcomes the guest into the room with a good working heating system.
Furniture and colours are very good and the single wardrobe is equipped with a long mirror, the woman's favourite one.
Carpets are unfortunately too old and this can be easily felt from smell and look.

This hotel is just 2 bus stops away from Termini. The neighborhood is ok. The hotel itself is in a quite quiet street, if you don't like noisy streets, then this place is for you. The busstop is not far, just 2-3 minutes. There are a couple of good restaurants around the corner. The hotel itself is nice, small, family type of hotel. The breakfast was really good, much better what you would expect from a similar hotel.

Best way to reach the hotel is via Tram nr. 3 or Bus 62 with a little walk. The metro is 10 min walk, but the Tram or busses are the best transport to use in Rome. Restaurants, supermarket and Gelateria just around the corner.
The Staff was friendly and the room reasonably sized with a very comfortable bed, all you need for a stay in an interesting city, were you spend most of the time sightseeing. Breakfast was good, but don`t drink the coffee from the machine, ask for a proper latte or espresso.

Room Tip: we were on the first floor to the back and it was very quiet

If you can walk a 200 m distance and catch a bus (contrary to some reviews it is easy to figure which one to take if you can read a map and bus signs) or do not mind approximately 7 EUR taxi ride this is a reasonable option compared to hotels inside the city walls. It is closer to main attractions than one might think from the internet map view.
Rooms are OK by standard you can expect in Rome at this price range, breakfast is adequate and location is in a quiet residential area, a short walk from restaurants that locals go to. All in all it is a good option if you can not find affordable rooms closer to tourist attractions. There will not be a pictoresque piazza right outside your window, but it is still the same Rome there, maybe a more authentic one. Just a 100 metres or so away at the end of the street there is a real Roman food market that early birds might enjoy on their morning walk.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a single room try 307 - good size, a balcony and a very Roman back yard view.

The Lloyd is not really easy to reach, a good 10min walk from the closest metro stop (Policlinico or Castro Pretorio), but it is located in a nice area, many good bars and restaurants near by, and quite close to the University, which served my purpose. Rooms are nice, quite spatious, very clean, breakfast is great and rich, and the staff is friendly. Apart from its location, which is not really central and it is shown in a better price, everything was very good.

Room Tip: My room looked on a park, and it was very quiet and great. I do not now about the other side that ov...
