“A very good hotel to stay in, but not in the centre”
Reviewed 22 February 2014

This is a fairly good hotel, even if its slightly on the expensive side for the services they offer.
Location is a bit on the outskirts of the city, and the bus service was the only mode of transport, and the last bus was generally at 11, which was not bad at all.

Almost all the necessary amenities were there. The neighborhood has a pizzeria right behind, and a few romantic restaurants nearby.

Overall, it was a memorable experience staying in the hotel, and we are likely to consider it the next time we visit Rome.

The hotel is located in the quiet neighborhood in Rome. Not so many restaurants / shops / tourist attraction can be found around the area but the metro is around 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
The room and the hallway is quite small for Mercure standard but the room provides good amenities.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. She provides us with practical trips to commute around the cities and showed metro map and the directions. There is nothing really special about this hotel but still it is a very practical and comfortable hotel.

After a long trip from Venice we reach the hotel, it said it was close to a train station, which was not the case. Rooms looked nicer on the website than in real life. Breakfast was the same every morning, and a very small variety for the price paid. Personnel was very nice an attentive. Internet connection was terrible, it keep getting desconnected after you logged in. Hotel room was clean but a bit old. Bathroom was not clean, even after i tried to clean the toilet myself, keep getting a funny smell......they need to use clorox to get rid of the pee smell. We had to stay for 3 nights since the reservation was pre paid, but if given the option we would have change hotels by the 1st night.

Dear Guest,
I thank you for your comments, following your stay at our hotel.
I’m deeply sorry the room did not meet your expectations. For the future, do not hesitate to contact Duty Manager (number 2424 on the room phone) which is at our guests' disposal to solve any dissatisfaction. as soon as hotel availability allows it, we always propose a change of room.
Regarding the Grand Buffet breakfast, I’m afraid the value for money was not correct for you.
All the products (vegetables, fruit, cakes, patisserie, bread, cheeses, gluten free, biological, Fairtrade and hot products) of the Mercure breakfast are referenced within a selection of high level suppliers, in order to offer our guest the best and large choice of food.
Last, but not least, our location on Accorhotels/mercure.com websites shows clearly the right distance from the railway station (3.6 km - 2.24 miles).
For this reason I kindly ask you to inform me about the website name from which you got the wrong information.

I look forward to welcoming you back soon in Rome.

Yours sincerely,

I stayed here last week 3 days + 2 days (after a short break in Florence). The hotel is located at 5 minutes walking from Agnese/Annibaliano (which is 4 stations away from Termini). The neighborhood is very quiet in an area of quite luxury appartments. Staff is quite friendly. The entry of the hotel looked like renovated to me. The hotel rooms are really very good for the price: Nice wooden floors and clean and undamaged furniture. Fridge with free water and a safe. Enough space to store your clothes. The beds (like usual with Mercure/Novotel) very good. The bathrooms were clean, nice big bath, nice details like shower gel, soap and clean big towels. Airco and heating working well. I just had some noisy upper neighbors make quite some noise 1 night. The breakfast was very nice: meat, cheeses, bread, mini croissants, cereals, milk, eggs, fresh pine aple, fresh melon, kiwi, yoghurt. The coffee machine is acceptable but not more than that. However on request (without charges) you can order coffee from a 'real' machine which has the quality of the hotel: very good. A bit strange, although there are juices (not fresh) I could order even fresh orange juice during my first stay, but not during the second stay (but for the price I paid this was acceptable for me). If you like walking (like me), the Villa Borghese park is around 30/40 minutes walking from the hotel. This park is next to the metro station Spagna from were you can visit a lot of the main attractions. Overall: I would recommend this hotel for sure.

This hotel is located in a residential and university neighborhood very calm and apparently safe (confirmed by locals). It`s 400m straight from the metro station Anniballiano, Line B1, wich connects you to all atractions within 5-10 min. The room and bathroom has a good size and some has a balcony. The are is very silent. The staff is very courteous and have helped us in any matter we've asked. I sure recommend this hotel.
