We stayed at a room without toilet, but it wasn't a problem, because it was just down the hall and very clean. We didn't share with that many. Even though we stayed at the ground floor, there wasn't any noice. The breakfast was nice too.

We found that the location of the Hotel was perfect for us, less busy than other area of Rome but near everything. The vatican is at 5 min of walk as well as the Metro. The near street Cola di Rienzo have a lot of boutique and the shopping is interesting. The room was always clean and have an air-conditioner, this is very helpful as i do not recommend sleeping with windows open, there's a lot of noise all night long on the street. They welcome us with 2 free small bottle of sparkling wine. Staff do not speak french but we have no difficulties using the english. Only breakfest is serverd at the hotel but there's some restaurant around. Mama's restaurant at 5 min of the Hotel is a must.

Room Tip: No elevator, so if you don't want to climb a lot of stairs, select a room on the lower level.

This was my second stay at Hotel Colors - my first time being over 6 years ago and my return visit did not disappoint. This Hotel/Hostel has so much going for it. The location is superb. Around 5 minutes’ walk to the Vatican. The neighbourhood is lovely - very leafy and residential - and of course safe!

Hotel Colors is a great budget option if you are looking to make your money stretch further. It has all the amenities you would expect. We stayed in a superior ensuite room which had everything we needed - including air conditioning and a mini fridge. The accommodation is light, bright, clean and welcoming.

The breakfast is great - a tasty continental buffet consisting of meats, cheeses, yoghurts, pastries, all different kinds of juices etc. As other reviews have stated - it is fair to say that the breakfast room is very small and this may not suit everyone. We always got a table however you could also take your food back to your room if you wish or to the small roof terrace on the
top floor.

Please do your homework before booking to ensure you know what you are getting and that it meets your expectations. There are steps throughout the building as it is a beautiful authentic Roman walk-up. If you want first class customer service and a concierge type service then this is not for you. If you are an independent traveller then this is a great find. Great value and perfect for all your needs. We can't wait to go back.

Wow, what a great stay, and a great way to kick off a 3 week trip to Italy! My boyfriend and I spent 8 days at this hotel and never had a complaint!

The service was always friendly and they were always very prompt. We got buzzed in every time immediately and they quickly would grab our keys for us even when we stumbled in a little drunk late in one night.

The room was clean and comfy. We didn't have a toilet, but the shower was nice and alway clean with hot water. Rooms were always clean when we came back too, even whem we slept in late and didn't leave until 1pm-2pm. The bathroom on the first floor was always spotless and was perfect for us as well.

This may seem silly, but the TV was great in the room too. You could change the channels to english and they had mostly American shows. So the first few nights when we had serious jetlagg and were wide awake at 2am it was nice having something to do.

The two best parts of this hotel though was the location and the breakfast. The location was literally right around the cornor from the Vatican and it seemed to be a super safe area. We never once felt uncomfortable strolling around late at night. Also there were great places to eat everywhere, which was convenient whem we first got there. The breakfast I think saved us so much money. Every morning we would wake up and make little sandwiches with turkey and cheese, sip coffee, and nibble on chocolate croissants, while sitting on the CUTEST balcony. They had fresh fruit salad, toasts, 5 kinds of cereal, many kinds of breads and pastries, several cheeses, turkey slices, 10 different juices, coffe, milk, tea, and more. We always stuffed ourselves and then didn't need to eat until much later in the afternoon, whch saved us so much time and money.

Overall it was a perfect stay. We paid in cash too so we got a 10% discount, which was perfect. While they ask for the cash the first 2 days we never got hassled for it. We gave them $300 on day 2 and then the rest the night before we left and never had a problem with it. I would reccomend this place to everyone, from young people like us backpacking through Italy, to my 50 year old parents looking for a nice hotel in a nice and perfect location. We will stay here again some day for sure!!!!

We stayed at hotel Colors in September 2012 for three nights. It was a great value find by my partner. It was modern and kept very clean. The breakfast in the morning was excellent with so much to choose from. Our room was very big and airy with a lovely modern bathroom. Each evening before going out we enjoyed wine on the communal balcony. Yes you have to walk up quite a few stairs to get to the hotel but its in an old building so we found nothing wrong with this. We found we were in a great position for exploring Rome. Highly recommended.

I've found this place literally a stone throw away from the Vatican City and I absolutely loved it! such a nice change from the usual, almost sterile hotel chain environment. the colours of the rooms are refreshing and adds such a nice vibe to the hotel.
I particularly liked the food in the morning, the service was top notch with really friendly waiters to see to my comfort.
Strongly recommended.

We spend in the Coloros Hotel three sleepless nights. There was a group of German kids on our floor that made our stay a night mare. To my surprise the teacher was on the same floor. We did try to talk to her and to the hotel staff but there was no improvement. The staff member even suggested that we should try to sort the situation out ourselves. I’m not sure what he meant by that.
The hotel itself is nice but we were just were unlucky.

Thank you for your comment on the hotel. We appreciate the effort which helps understand eventual problems. As you said, probably got unlucky with the kid's issue and we are sorry to hear that, but other than that we hope you enjoyed the rest of our services.
Hopefully you will nevertheless consider our hotel for your future trips to Rome and we will certainly have an eye of regard on choosing a nice quiet room for you.
