Very large room with high ceilings. Comfy bed and very clean and tidy. Serviced the rooms daily and the communal bathrooms are large and clean. Great location with a small supermarket 2mins walk.

The location of the hotel is perfect, very close to the Vatican and about 1 hour walk to the Coliseum. Our room was very small but clean and modern. I understand space is hard to fin in a old city like that and as i read other reviews, we might just had the smallest one! Anyways, we were just there to sleep. We were happy to have an air conditioner since it was really hot outside. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices.

This hotel definitely deserves more than 2 stars its at least 3 stars if not higher. It is ideally located about 10 minute walk to the Vatican, in a safe part of the city, it is a little bit of a walk 10 minutes or so the metro.
We had a room with a private bathroom as i know you could get some with just room only, the room was an ideal size, the bed was so comfortable, the decor was super modern and looked newly renovated, it had air-con and a big flat-screen tv with SKY tv. The bathroom was also modern and looked newly renovated.
Couldn't fault this hotel at all it was perfect, we left our bags when we checked out and the hotel printed our airline tickets for us too.
Wouldn't hesitate to come back to Hotel Colors next time im going to Rome ill be booking here!

We stayed at the Colors Hotel for 2 Nights in May and we can really recommend staying here. A 2 star hotel but one can see that they are striving to improve. Decent Breakfast. Really colourful hotel and helpful and friendly staff.

Location is pretty good.

Rooms are clean and spacious bathroom.

We will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on the first or second floor. It is tiring walking up with suitcases. They do not...

We stayed in this hotel during our recent trip to Rome. It is a cute little place that has a friendly staff. As it is located right near Vatican, we could walk over to Saint Peter's and Vatican Museums. The Museums are free the last Sunday of every month and so we took advantage of it without having to take a taxi or subway. Another big plus is that there is a shuttle to the airport that leaves from a place within walking distance from the hotel. The ticket was only 6 Euros each, which makes that alternative much cheaper than taking taxi or even train. The only disadvantage with this hotel is the absence of elevator, which made the task of hauling our heavy luggage up three stories quite hard.

Dear guests,

"Cute little place and friendly staff " gives a pretty cozy idea of our hotel which actually sounds great. It's good to hear that the position was also highly appreciated and that you found it easy and cheap to move from the hotel to the airport. Regarding the elevator absence due to the fact that it is a historical old building all you have to do for your next stay with us is ask for a room in a lower level. We will be pleased satisfy your request.

Best wishes,

Colors Hotel Staff

Hotel Colors, located adjacent to the Vatican demonstrates its usefulness to us, the guests. Throughout the 5 days and 4 nights, me and my friends appreciated our warm stay. The Brazilian receptionist (forgotten her name) was really friendly and gave us clear, concise directions to various notable landmark places around Rome. Breakfast was a major let down for many reasons. !) Not enough seating space - we had to eat in our rooms. 2) The coffee was bitter - EVERY morning. I was pretty frustrated but found a nice little gem within minutes of Colors. 3) Lack of food! One day we didn't eat breakfast here because everything had finished! To conclude, I suggest frying scrambled eggs, fried egg, - something meaningful to the guests. Imagine having THE perfect breakfast here? WOAH. the accreditation rating would dramatically go up!! Think about it :)

Dear Guests,

Thank you for taking your time to let us know good qualities and what we can improve. Glad to hear that you found it a warm place where to stay and that the reception service was good. As for the quantity of food we cannot completely agree, probably you got there at the very last moment before closure time?! As for the space problems and coffee bitterness and also the lack of scrambled eggs we will definitely keep them in mind and try to improve. Your critics are extremely important to us.
Hopefully you will come back again and will have the chance to dramatically increase our accreditation rating :)
Thank you again.

Best regards,

Colors Hotel Staff

I booked this hotel for myself and my girlfriend for her 21st birthday present for a 5 day break. Originally we had paid for a double room with shared bathroom and toilet however upon arrival we were given a room with private bathroom and toilet for no extra cost! However this may have been due to the fact that we had to switch rooms after the first night, which wasn't too much of a problem and we weren't going to complain with the free upgrade! If you can, I would recommend trying to avoid room 201 as it is out on the stairwell and you can hear peoples footsteps echoing at early hours when people are leaving the hotel (however our other room was great and quiet). The rooms were clean, comfortable and colourful and we were given a welcome bottle of wine on arrival. The cleaners seem very trustworthy, they even returned 5p to us that we'd lost under the bed!

If you pay for breakfast i'd advise getting up before 9am as after this time they seem to stop refilling the food, however the selection was really good (meats, cakes, breads, croissants, cheese, cereal, juice, fruit etc.)

The hotel is situated between 2 metro stops, both of which are easily accessible with 10 minute walk or so. The Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo were both about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, there are plenty of restaurants and fast food places located nearby as well as a mini supermarket just around the corner for snacks and drinks.

If we were to return we would definitely stay here again, friendly staff all of whom speak very good english and made our trip one to remember!

Room Tip: Avoid room 201 unless you have earplugs!
