We visited this hotel with friends who had stayed here previously and enjoyed it very much.
It's a small family run hotel on a side street outside Vatican City walls so location is brilliant for access to Vatican.
Simple facade disguises a really good hotel where the staff are so friendly and helpful, spacious bedrooms with all the usual facilities and a really good breakfast buffet.
We booked direct and they organised shuttle transfer to & from airport for us and even gave us a can of their own olive oil as gift on departure.
We would make this our first choice if we visit the city again.

Location is great - quiet spot between the Vatican and the Castel Sant'Angelo, and easy walking distance to the rest of the sights.
We had a quiet room away from the street that looked out onto a lovely patio. The room was a good size and bathroom was small but adequate.
The breakfast was wonderful and it is served in a room that opens out onto a patio.
We loved the lady who serves the breakfast - just the best !
The hotel is rather expensive and one can probably find the same quality for a bit less. Also the beds were very, very firm which affected sleep quality

After Just returning from 3 weeks in Italy I must say that this was my favorite Hotel! Charming, personable staff, comfortable, spotlessly clean, nicely appointed rooms, and a very short walk to St Peters and Vatican City. The patio and garden outside Room 12 was delightful, and the breakfasts were wonderful! The Hotels staff were so helpful with directions (Thank you Antonio) taxis, restaurant suggestions, we felt very pampered while we were there!

We found this gem long ago and still love it. Location is perfect, walking to Vatican, bus stop, metro. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bramante is clean and beautiful, but the best part is the breakfast which we have yet to find an equal in italy.

Our first stay at Hotel Bramante was 20 years ago, and we've been back at least half a dozen times since then. You can find less expensive and more expensive places to stay in Rome (and we've tried a number of them when Bramante was full), but I haven't found one I liked better! Loradonna's (the owner's) family has owned this hotel for several generations, and the family pride shows in everything they do. Loradonna and Mauritio (and their teenaged daughter) treat their guests like much-loved family.

Other reviews here talk about the place, so I'll just confirm: the breakfast is the best you'll get in Italy; BOTH of the outside patios are wonderful (the new one on the street level is especially nice); the location is astounding; check out the new rooms on the ground floor!

My partner and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. We stayed in 4 different hotels in 3 cities and this was the best. It's located on a quiet side street , only a 5 minute walk from St Peter's. The room was large and spacious and spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was scrumptious, with an array of tempting food choices. There is no elevator so it would not be suitable for people with a disability but otherwise it is highly recommended.

This hotel is located in the Leonina area of Rome and within walking distance of St. Peter's Basilica. It's situated on a passage way which is narrow and very quiet, so you do not hear street
noise at night. There is a restaurant just across the small street and many in the neighborhood that have good food for lower prices than near the Vatican. Many business men stay here and enjoy the quiet atmosphere of a small family-run hotel. It was originally built in 1873 and has always been run by the Mariani family. The rooms are comfortable, air-conditioned, have a small fridge, snacks and drinks to purchase, bath toiletries and all the comforts of a newly updated hotel which was done in 1999. It does not have an elevator for the three floors, so it would not be suitable for hand-capped. They provide a continental breakfast and there is a patio with umbrella tables on the second floor. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: We were in room 10 on the second level. It was an end room next to the patio which made it convenie...
