We stayed for 9 nights in mid-October at the Cosmopolita. As mentioned in previous reviews, the biggest advantage of this hotel is its superior location. Taxis were used only twice....to get to the Bargello and St. John Lateran, from which we leisurely strolled back. We walked to all the other major venues and felt we were in the heart of it all (...and we were.....between the Emanuel Monument and Trevi Fountain!)

Kudos to the service at the desk from Max, Alessandro and Chris, which was warm, helpful and most friendly. The rooftop deck offered views of either the Forum or St. Peter's and was a perfect spot for a meal of wine, bread and cheese around sunset. Breakfasts were offered on the second floor daily, but not included in the cost of the room. Good assortment of standard buffet foods. Bed sheets were changed daily.

Our disappointment was in the room and its cleanliness. The floors under the bed hadn't been cleaned in some time, the bathroom (miniscule in size) needed new grout on the walls, and in the shower especially, and there was virtually no view from the window. It faced onto the mechanical hub on the roof, allowing for almost no natural light.

Had the location not been soooo convenient, I am not sure we would have stayed the full 9 evenings. Also, beware of wine prices at the adjoining bar. Eight euros for a short pour seemed pretty extravagant in comparison to every other location where we sipped!

Room Tip: Avoid room 118. Overlooks mechanics on roof and has virtually no natural light.

It's our first trip to Rome, had concerns before traveling, i.e, the size of rooms, service, communication... We booked 3 nights in late Sep., it was good start with Cosmopolita, decent size rooms, high ceiling, good location ( easy walking distance to must-sees), we found the mattresses are ok, not as hard as other reviews, may be just my individual preference.

I'm giving this hotel three stars because the location was great (walking distance to most sites and very close to the Forum) and the room was clean. That said, there are a million other hotels in Rome and I wish we had paid a little bit more and stayed somewhere else. The room and bathroom were small, there was a security door from the lobby to the elevators which didn't make me feel exactly safe, and the hotel just felt run down.

Stayed for 4 nights in mid September. Great location- within 5-10 minutes walking to Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Piazza Navona. The Coliseum was 10-15 walk as well. The room was incredibly small. Even for 2 people and two pieces of luggage. The beds were rock hard, and insanely uncomfortable... especially after long days of exploring the city. The reception was helpful and spoke decent English. If you're merely looking for a great location for a good price, I would recommend this place. if you're looking for something a bit more comfortable, I would look elsewhere.

Stayed with friends for 3 nights. Great location to take in the sights. Hotel is what you expect doesn't have large rooms but they are clean and decorated nicely. Can't complain and I would stay there again.

as the title says the location is spot on. the room was adequate and the buffet breakfast quite good. the staff were friendly and accommodating. the lift was very small and slow. free wifi was good. just over the road was a little shop called the market, cheap beer and wine plus groceries etc owner very nice helpful and friendly.

Couldn't be happier with the location. Short walk to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Trevi Fountain. Not far from Spanish steps and main shopping area. 10 minutes in a taxi from Termini train station. We stayed here for one night as we needed to catch an early flight the next day. We requested a quiet room and got one on the 4th floor facing away from the main road, which was great. Hotel rooms in the main cities of Italy are on the small side so I'd say this one was standard. When we checked in at 4:00pm and checked out at 5:30am there was no one else around so we had easy access to the lift and reception staff, which at other times were very busy with queues. There was no blanket in the room at all, only a sheet and even with the air con turned off we felt the cold on an otherwise warm night. The soap/shampoo dispenser was disappointing given this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. Having said that the water pressure in the shower was great. Luckily we got a great price so the value for what we got and needed was good. Would not pay full price.
