What more could you want? The hotel rooms were beautifully clean with excellent air con. The communal areas were very well decorated: quirky yet stylish. We walked everywhere from the hotel on a daily basis as the nearest metro station was 10 minutes away. However, a taxi to Termini station was only €10 maximum. Staff were friendly and the reception was constantly manned for all your needs.

Have just returned from city break and would agree with much of the previous reviews.
I chose the hotel after reading the previous reviews and got a good deal through british airways.
Check in was smooth and had a room on the 4th floor (5 floors in total). Rooms do vary, looking at the pictures ours was smaller and only had a shower not a bath, but we did have a small balcony. Some rooms on 4th floor have larger terraces and the 5th floor rooms are on a terrace and have nice seating areas - funny though, we didn't see anybody from those rooms using them - what a waste.
The rooms and the hotel are modern and comfortable, tea and coffee facilities would have been nice.
The breakfast was good, continental selection but plenty of choice and the staff do keep it constantly topped up.
The staff really do make the stay enjoyable, they are all attentive and do go out of the way to help you - and they don't expect anything from you.
Happy hour is from 6:30 till 8:00 (I know that's an hour and a half) but a good way to start the evening before going out to dinner - the hotel does not have an evening restaurant but you can find lots of restaurants nearby or venture into the centre - saw lots of people bringing food back also.
Had a really great time - if you could pick the hotel up and move it into the centre it would be perfect, although you might just lose that friendly, family style that makes the hotel such a gem.

Room Tip: Rooms on 4th and 5th floor with terraces

Stayed for two nights in July. Fiume Hotel was clean, inviting and modern. Rooms were average size with trendy fixtures such as the bathroom sink. Our families occupied 3 different rooms and all were just as good as the next one. AIr Conditioner worked great and had no problem sleeping with the windows open one night. Hotel was very helpful and resourceful giving us directions to all the popular tourist sites. It was a bit out of the way but the price and location were perfect for our budget. Breakfast was good and did the trick to feed some hungry teens. We really enjoyed the self-serve Coffee/Cappucino machine but was bummed that is was broken the last morning. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very clean, staff in general was very nice. Air conditioning did not work well and street noise was very loud with windows open making for less than optimal sleeping. Bizarre shower design that led to entire bathroom flooding whenever someone took a shower. Breakfast was good for an omnivore, vegans I suggest you bring some peanut butter or something with protein to supplement bread and fruit. Incidentally, a very good vegan restaurant called Ops! was half a block away. Several other nice restaurants very close by. Location was a little off the beaten path but truthfully it was nice to be away from the crazy tourist stuff for awhile plus Rome is such a nice walkable city it never felt we had to walk more than 30-45 minutes to get somewhere.

I booked a hotel room at Fiume for 3 nights in July. The staff was helpful, the hotel was clean, and location was great. I booked this hotel knowing it wasn't close to the sites but it was close to metro and a cab station. There were also lots of great restaurants closeby. The breakfast was basic but good. The only odd thing was that the front glass door had a large crack going halfway down it and never got fixed. Other than that, the hotel was great- I would recommend this to others.

Nice modern hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful.

The rooms are really modern but the room we had was very very small, it just about fit a double bed in. Had a small balcony but 2 people could just about stand on it. However we only paid EUR 200 for 2 nights.

We could however hear next door, we could hear every word and they were only talking and not shouting. You could also hear their toilet flush and the taps running.

The location was in a nice area which had a number of nice restaurants but it was a bit out of the centre of Rome. It took about 25 minutes to walk to the trevi fountain and Spanish steps. The nearest metro from about an 8 minute walk.

The breakfast was the standard continental breakfast but it was very fresh and there was lots of choice.

The hotel was clean. The staff was helpful but not super friendly. The location is more among the locals which gives it several good restaurants nearby, but out of the way for tourist locations. Cabs in Rome tend to be expensive and the only other option is bus transportation. I liked the hotel but would stay more central if I were doing it again.
