“Good place to stay in Rome for a couple of days...”

Personally I thought the rooms were small but comfortable, the elevators were tiny! The doorman was especially nice. The location was perfect!! For a meal on the terrace it is expensive. This hotel was small and boutique. A lot of restaurants and ice cream shops nearby, also a lot of historic monuments. For example; The Trevi Fountain

Room Tip: 6th floor with view of Pantheon

The management of this hotel needs replacement. They are not helpful or accomodating. The breakfasts are terrible. This hotel has great potential for its location but needs some real management attention. Way over priced for what is offered. We stayed there for a week and every day there were unresolve issues such as elevators out of service the entire time. Because the elevators were tiny to begin with this made for long delays.

Room Tip: Superior in highest floors

Wonderful location in central Rome.
Excellent, well trained staff.
Poor Breakfast (Extra charge of 35 euros each)
Hotel is tired and needs refurbishing.
Beds very comfortable.
Air conditioning very noisy
Shower worked well but it is over the bath and not separate.

Room Tip: Twin room is bigger than double room!

Our family stayed at the hotel June 23-28, 2013. We chose the hotel based on location, central air conditioning, and gluten-free breakfast options. The location can't be beat, centrally located so we could walk everywhere, but quiet enough to sleep well. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Service was excellent, the staff was friendly, front desk was very helpful with answering questions and making reservations for us, and the kitchen staff was happy to heat gluten free rolls we purchased for our daughter at a local shop. Buffet breakfast was so-so, we ate there the first morning only... not worth the $25 per person. The roof top restaurant/bar has amazing views. We plan to stay here when we return to Rome.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the courtyard are quieter.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel de la Minerve for 2 nights and it was a joy! The hotel is situated just steps from the Pantheon, restaurants (delicious) and ATM machines. The area is a maze of small winding lanes, all charming.
I left my tote bag with my valuables in the room and didn't realize it until a few days later. They found it and sent it to me with all the valuables intact. They were most accommodating and I commend them for their integrity and helpfulness.
Oh, and they have the most beautiful roof garden with restaurant, bar and entertainment. I'm still dreaming of returning and will stay in the same hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Our room was very dark, both in color and lighting. The bathroom was very small-there was only about 1 foot between the counter and the shower. Our room was cleaned well, and the housekeeping staff worked hard with a smile on their faces. The roof top bar is lovely, with exquisite views of the city. We were lucky to be there for the sunset...beautiful. But...with all this beauty comes a price of 45 euros for 4 glasses of wine. Ouch!

We Stayed at this hotel 13 years ago and we then liked it, because of its great location. When booking for this trip I read on their website that they had a big remodel for x millions, plus their pictures looked beautiful. We were ready to pay the hefty price for the room, because everything seemed to be perfect.
We were so disappointed when we arrived. First, everything looked the same as 13 years ago just more beat up. The carpets in the hallways are stained and smell. The room was average but nothing special.
The bathroom is dirty, small and smelly. We even paid extra for the deluxe room, we are still trying to figure out what the deluxe part is. Maybe they mean the sewage smell in the room.
We feel truly ripped off and we would not recommend this hotel, unless you get it under € 300
