I stayed in this hotel for a weekend in July, the hotel is very central in the historic part of the city, everything is walkable distance and it's on a lovely square. By far the best part of the hotel is the rooftop bar and restaurant - it's fantastic! We stayed in a standard room which was very nice and practical. Overall great stay although not cheap!

Nice hotel. It looks good, clean, comfortable, service ok, blah, blah, blah.

But the jewel in this hotels crown is where it sits. Not just in Rome but right in the middle of old Rome. The Pantheon is literally a stones throw away, so before breakfast you can wander and wonder around such an illustrious building before the crowds get there. Everywhere else of note is also a walk away, which makes this hotel a perfect base.

This is a very nice hotel in a fantastic location. Step out the door and you are close to everything - sights, restaurants, shopping - everything. The rooms are nice as you would expect for the price, but I can't say memorable really. The fitness center (room) is very basic, don't plan on anything special there for sure. The rooftop bars/restaurant is interesting but badly overpriced, so I'd suggest just hitting one of the many good restaurants within 5 minutes of the hotel. Nice hotel. More like a 4 star in a 5 star location.

Service at this hotel is first rate! I asked the front desk to print some papers I needed and they were delivered within minutes!
Room was a good size and bathroom was spotless. Loved the rooftop bar - wonderful views.
The location was the real benefit of staying here - the Piazza in front of the Pantheon is lively and there are many small trattorias nearby.

We arrived into Rome by train at 10:30 and took a taxi to the hotel. We checked in, dropped off our luggage and were told to return around 3:00 (15:00) which we expected. As the hotel is in a very lively area I requested a higher floor in our room classification to avoid street noise. The person said okay, and this request at 11:00 AM on a Friday should have been an easy one but upon check in we were sent to room 126. So, no problem, we'll go with the flow but as we were led to this room we could not help but notice the dirty, old carpet and corridor halls in need of a fresh coat of paint. 126 is at the end of a hallway and its next door neighbor is the laundry room, not necessarily a problem by itself but when laundry carts are always in the hallway just outside your door - sometimes empty, other times stacked full of dirty linens or clean linens - then you begin to get a bit disenchanted, especially when you remind yourself how much you paid for the room. Then, our tiny room had a cheap hardwood veneer flooring (no carpet) and a fridge that never worked (yes, called service, guy said he fixed it, guy was wrong). And it was loud at night. So, the next day we asked for a higher floor, not needing a nice room, just away from the street. I was really out of my comfort zone in doing so but I felt that it was justified and this time the folks at the front desk were helpful and agreed to move us. In fact the porter moved our bags mid day while we were out. Once on the 6th floor of what seemed to be a much nicer part of the hotel, our experience was excellent - a view from our windows, carpet, working fridge, slightly bigger room with better lamps, a cleaner corridor. This was what we expected. 126 should be an embarrassment for a hotel of this calibre; perhaps it should be set aside for the last minute discount reservations if that is possible.

Room Tip: If you get room 126, go ask for a change.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your review, happy to know that, in the end, you had a good experience staying with us. I asked the receptionists why they did not comply with your request of a high floor, they told me that they could not do it simply because of the high occupancy period, the first availability of classic rooms on high floor the day after your arrival. They shouldn’t at all have said you “Ok” before checking the real availability, seems that they intended it as a simple acknowledge of your request. They have been instructed to be more careful in the future. Thank you for helping us in trimming our staff’s training. Regarding your critic about the room, while I do agree with you that 126 is not one of our top rooms, I believe that there is really no reason that it should be used as a “last resort room”. I’d like to remind all of our guests that the room size standards in Europe and particularly in Italy are different from the US standards, and our rooms are averagely larger than the ones you might find among comparable venues in Rome. In fact, 126 is the hotels biggest Classic room, at the edge of the Superior room category you were upgraded to, the day after. The first floor have been renovated two years ago, together with all the rooms. We took off the carpet replacing it with hardwood flooring, responding to several guest’s requests. We have replaced the minibar/fridge after you left the room. About the laundry carts outside the door, the housemaids and the housekeeper have been told several times to not use the corridor as a deposit, my apologies for this. Please contact me directly, if you plan to come back to Rome, I’ll be more than glad to show you that your remarks have been noticed.
Best regards

This is a beautiful, smallish hotel located a block from the Pantheon on the relatively quiet and very convenient Piazza della Minerve. Our deluxe room was lovely, with high ceilings and huge windows overlooking the piazza. The furnishings were smart and well thought out but just on the verve of getting tired. The bathroom was nice, and roomy for Europe, but the shower head, which was a hand-held nozzle sitting in a fixture designed to slide up or down to adjust its height, didn't hold and so neither it's height nor angle could be properly adjusted for a hands-free shower. Also during almost all of our 4 night stay one of the 2 tiny elevators was out of service. All that said, I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Spring for the room upgrade to a deluxe, it is well worth it.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your kind review and your critics, we have forwarded them to our maintenance department that is taking the necessary steps to solve the issues. About the elevators, we are not allowed to fix them by our self, so we have to rely on an external company, that has it’s own priorities. Thank you again, I hope to meet you next time you come to Rome. Best regards

As others have said, this hotel is in a great location but also had a great atmosphere. There is a rooftop bar and restaurant which was great as we visited in July when it was hot. The staff were really helpful and we were able to stay in our room free of charge on the last day of our holiday when we had an evening flight. We thought the rooms were a decent size for a city centre hotel.
