This was a great place to base for 3 days. We arrived by train at 10.30pm and walked from the Termini in about 5 minutes - no problems. We had arranged for a late check-in and were met by a very helpful staff member. The room was very comfortable and the staff were helpful and available when needed. Basic but very adequate breakfast. We would most certainly recommend this B & B.

A clean, safe hotel in a very good location. It was only 5 mins (max) walk from the station and there were plenty of nice cafes and restaurants nearby. It was also close to the Colosseum and Ancient Rome (15mins) and walkable distance to most other attractions.

The room was clean and seemed very safe (there were several doors to open before getting to our room). It was very clean and the shower was really nice. The room was advertised as having 'top Italian bed linen, including luxurious silken sheets and special therapeutic mattresses' - whilst the bed was not uncomfortable I would not neccessarily say that this statement was true.

The staff were helpful and when we arrived gave us a lot of information about what to see and how to get out and about in Rome. Unfortunately the main reception was not manned all the time and was in a seperate building to our room, there was no phone in the room so it was difficult to ask reception staff about any queries after checking in.

The breakfast was not great - we had not had it included in the price of our room and had it on one day - it was not worth the 7.50 we paid each.

Overall a pleasant stay - If I was returning to Rome I would stay here again.

I read many reviews for 58 Le Real de Luxe before deciding that this was the place for my fiance and I for our overnight trip to Rome. I asked a few Italian friends about the Location of the hotel, and they told me that it was very well placed.

I tried booking a room through their website two days before leaving, but did not receive confirmation of booking, so was a little worried when we arrived as I wasn't sure whether we'd be on their list. It turned out that we weren't because I had given incorrect card details (I got the email telling me this whilst in Rome!) but luckily for us this wasn't an issue as they had a room available. The room came to around £65 including the city tax, which I think is about right for a B&B in the city centre.

We arrived at the hotel around 11am, and they were more than happy for us to check in to our room, which was lovely as it meant we could explore the city without having to lug our bags around with us. The lady said we were staying around the corner from the main hotel, and she took us around to show us exactly where it was. When we got to our floor, we had to pass through the breakfast room to get to our room (409), and the lady said that we should feel free to help ourselves to some breakfast. Breakfast was very basic- cereal, croissants, and some coffee or tea, but it was nice of her to offer, considering it was close to midday. When we got to our rooms, she wished my fiance a happy birthday- she must have noticed it in her passport when taking down our details- which I thought was a nice touch.

The room itself was most impressive. Better than I had expected. And the shower.....OH MY GOD! It was big enough for 4 people, and even had a hydro-massage shower the head just needed a bit of a clean as some of the holes were blocked. It had towels and toiletries, and the room had AC which was all we expected. It was perfect for us. There was also a large 40" plasma tv on the wall, but the only channel working was BBC World News. My fiance felt that it could do with a revamp, as some things looked slightly dated such as the towel hooks were only just clinging to the walls and needed to be re-screwed to the wall. We also had free wifi, which was an excellent bonus.

I felt that the location was excellent. Literally a few hundred meters from Termini station. The Colosseum was a 20 min walk, Trevi fountain was 30 mins away on foot, and Piazza Navona was around 45 mins walk away. If like us, you have no issues walking everywhere then this is not far at all, as along the way there is so much culture and architecture to take in that you don't even realise how long you've been walking for. For those of you who don't like to walk, a one day metro travel card is only 4 euros, and there are plenty of metro stops near the main sites.

We were told that check out is at 11am, but we didn't leave before 11.30am and this wasn't a problem. They also allowed us to keep our bags at the desk until we were ready to collect them.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cheap and pleasant, no frills place to stay whilst exploring the sites of Rome. I would definitely come back again in the future.

We stayed here for 4 nights in June and mainly it was a good B&B. The room itself was nicely decorated with shutters on the windows which meant that it was nice and dark when sleeping. The bathroom was nice, especially the shower which was huge! There was also sky TV for those who speak italian!

Unfortunately our air con didn't work properly, it was very frustrating as it would come on but then turn itself off after 2 seconds and when you open the window it is just so noisy due to the street and traffic below! We told them it was broken but they didn't fix it while we were there. Also the safe in our room was broken.

We had breakfast once but it was only available until 9.30am which was a bit early for us. Given that 'breakfast' was just a few croissants and biscuits left out and help yourself to coffee from a machine I don't see why they couldn't extend the time.

I wasn't that keen on the area - we chose it because it was close to the train station which it was but it meant that it was then a long walk to go to any of the main sights we wanted to see. A few times we got a taxi which was approximately 10 Euros from near Piazza Navona to the hotel so not too bad. For info its about a 20 minute walk to the colloseum.

The other annoying thing was that while we were there they decided to do some renovations right outside our room (knocking down and moving walls) in the morning, this was very noisy and annoying and I think they should have said that it was going to happen. I wondered what all the banging was and it felt like someone might come in our room!

All in all I think this is quite a nice B&B but we just happened to have some bad experiences due to the renovations and the frustrating air con which was very much needed at the end of June! Generally its a nice place, and the guy on reception was helpful letting us print our tickets for the colloseum.

I probably wouldn't stay here again but that would be more to do with the location.

We actually stayed in the sister hotel of La Real de Luxe, which is literally around the corner from it's parent. The location was great, a few blocks from the Termini train station, in a less densely touristed area. The bed was a tempurapedic, and the bathroom was incredible. There was AC, which was useful in the humidity of Rome.

What was wrong with it? The breakfast was minimal; primarily sweet rolls and coffee, and there was no easy contact with hotel staff. My husband liked the coffee machine, so he was happy, though both of us prefer a more balanced continental breakfast. I would stay here again, though, as overall it was a good experience.

Location, location, location....easy walking distance to all attractions, train station (1 block) and metro. Rooms were spacious with really comfortable beds, lovely showers, efficient air condition and quiet. Wireless internet in room worked well, breakfast OK. Staff very helpful, booked transport to airport and offered suggestions for dining. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing location - walking distance from the station and on the main road to the Colosseum - and very professional service from all involved. A bit pricey for a B&B but worth paying the price for the quality of the room and the service. The best was the B&B willingly packed us a sumptuous breakfast when we had to leave early morning for Pompeii. The room was a bit cramped but the quality of the bed and the decor made up for it. It is truly a home away from home. Somkers - climb up a few stairs and smoke as all rooms are non-smoking and avoid checking in this place after 8 PM.
