We went to the Sanata Maria dei Miracoli on two occasions and were amazed by the artwork, statutes, and the size of the church. Both times that we went there were very few people there and it allowed for some very nice quiet time. This church is well worth the visit.

It's a pity that few people have reviewed this church as it is a truly breathtaking place. Situated in Piazza del Popolo on the right when facing Via del Corso, it is a must visit. The people are friendly and my experience of Mass there was one of a kind. A few minutes before Mass started a church helper came up to me and asked me to read the responsorial psalms which i agreed to do. After that during the Creed the same person asked me to read once more. Other than the lovely experience the church is also beautiful with enchanting music being played after Mass. The works of art in this church are not to be missed.

Designed by Michelangelo - SMdM is just off the piazza Republica and the Republica metro stop. It is an easy walk from the Termini station as well. It is well worth the visit. There is a wonderful sense of peace within the space. The design is lovely and quiet. A built in sun-dial/calendar is of scientific interest. There is a lovely contemporary piece of stained glass at the top of one of the domes that is not to be missed.

It is interesting to find twin churches in a city like Rome. Santa Maria dei Miracoli and Santa Maria in Montesanto are twin churches. Interesting is the altar has an image of the miracle.

This church is almost identical to its twin sister church Santa Maria in Montesanto.
They both occupy one end of Popolo Square and are a nice to look at (although quite ordinary inside).
