“Elegant ease”
Reviewed 14 February 2012

As you walk into this hotel there is a definate feeling of style and elegance! The furnishings are all of the highest standard and the ambience of the hotel is of calm!
The rooms are beautiful , the bathrooms too with beautiful robes and towels!the front desk and concierge were very helpful and polite and it was very easy to walk from the hotel to several places of interest and also to get a taxi within a couple of minutes,
The downside was there was no indoor pool and the spa only had a jacuzzi and Turkish bath which you had to make an appointment for! Also, the catering , although we only had breakfast, was lacking in atmosphere and momentum!
However, we would definitely return on a bed and breakfast deal as the hotel itself was gorgeous and in a great location!

The hotel is very nice. The rooms are of good size with high ceilings. The rooms faci g the streets are very noisy, so choose à room towards the inner courts. Breakfast in My opinion had little choice of fresh fruits.

We came across this hotel after a not so pleasant stay the night before at a different hotel. Immediately we knew that this is where we should be staying. The building is definitely luxurious and grand, conveniently placed right next to the Metro and various restaurants and bars. The people greeting us were especially attentive and helpful. When we ate at the restaurant the staff we also very pleasant and helpful - explaining the menu and recommending dishes, they even catered to us when we asked for an added ingredient with our pasta. The rooms were clean and luxurious - couldn't ask for anything more to be honest.
My only complaint is that is was very expensive. The expense for the room was expected but paying 10 euros for a bottle of coca-cola is terrible by anyone's standard!
Overall I must recommend it, although it was expensive - it was a lovely hotel!

This hotel is very imposant from the moment you walk in in the lobby. Friendly and helpful staff at the reception and concierge desk. Room very nice, spacious, clean and practical decorated.
Rome is very busy at this time of the year so we went daily to the pool, so nice and refreshing, all the way on the roof top. Although this is a city trip destination, it is still Italy so the roof is a perfect getaway when there's a moment you have enough of this so busy city.

Fantastic, central location in an impressive looking building. Lots of restaurants and bars scattered around the area of the hotel which migh make a nice diversion from paying 12euros for a bottle of beer in the hotel! If you go down the basement level then you can see some old Roman street ruins through a glass floor. Nice touch. Made for a memorable meeting environment. Very clean rooms which got serivced at least twice a day. Wifi codes available when you check in and the business centre staff are also very helpful. i was on the annex of the second floor which had a terrible view of the back car park, so if a room with a view is important to you then make sure you enquire first.

If you want to go to Rome to sight see, you need to think about location , and this is it at the Piazza de Republicca . Very good location and many sight seeing locations all in walking distance ( 1 - 5 km ) . Even the night clubs , restaurants and cafes were just around the corner . We stayed for 2 days only but had a very pleasant stay .

THe only problem I have with this hotel is , some rooms have absolutely no view at all and if you don't see the room before hand you could end up with a bad view . Its always a fine line between a good holiday and these small things that kill the experience.

But if all goes your way , you will be happy with this hotel .

Good Food too , never a problem in Rome .

We won a trip that included a five night stay here. When I walked in, I thought "Boy, this place is really fancy and nice." It really was. Here are the pluses and minuses of the hotel.

Pluses
Location is remarkable. It is right off the Republica subway and right across the street from the bus stop. It is also very close to the Termini station where you can catch regional trains to visit other areas of Italy.
Our rooms had a balcony and were very spacious. Housekeeping did an excellent job keeping the room very tidy.
The hotel roof had a swimming pool, albeit it was essentially a lap pool. It also had a bar and restaurant up there. But it is very expensive- $10 sodas.
Although one of the concierge staff seemed like he had a stick up his butt, once you chatted with him, he was very helpful. They were helpful to give you directions or to make reservations for you.
They had a fitness center that was minimal, but sufficient enough to get the job done.
If you are willing to walk, we walked to the Colliseum and Spanish Steps. One day we walked back from the Vatican. It is a long walk, but if you like to roam around, it is very doable. If not, the subway or bus can take you to all the major places.

Minuses
It is pricey. If you stay here, you will pay good money for this place.
If you did not get the breakfast included with your room, you will pay a lot for breakfast. However, the buffet was very good for a European country. The traditional American breakfast was not that good - the kids ordered them. But when in Europe, eat like a European.
The shower had a half glass. So when you showered, water splashed everywhere on the floor.

I think if the price does not bother you, then I would recommend this place. The location and amenities are very good.
